1/30 Entry #3 . . .

AH - It's You "Dream" - I've been waiting to hear about ("My" apologies "Lisa") . . . Is the J O B Interview follow-up not working out . . . Is it just the back ground check . . . What's happening ? ? ?

2. It's issues with the background check that are just... Odd, I've never had to jump thru hoops like this. First I get an email, which I found in spam folder, from the company I'm assuming was hired to do background checks for the company I hope to work for, that they needed a copy of the W2 or paystub from an employer I worked for 8 years ago... So I Googled and found my previous employer no longer exists so I sent the W2. Well, last night, I got an email saying they needed a W2 from Kentucky Fried Chicken.... I know they haven't closed! So I raise an eyebrow but send the info. This morning, the background check company said that W2 was insufficient because the corporate/payroll name on the W2 isn't KFC, its KC of Madison, Madison being the county I lived in at time. My paystubs reflected the same KC of Madison, I never had an issue. They said it was not the correct W2. I emailed them and explained, but haven't heard back. A few minutes ago though I got an email from the company I hope to work for, again welcoming me to the company and reminding me what to bring to orientation, so I'm hoping all is well. I'm just at a loss with this background check stuff, I'm very unnerved that a professional background check company can't manage to verify my employment with a company as large as KFC. Either the KFC I worked for was sketchy, or this background check company is. :S

Lol anyways there's my novel for the day lol sorry so long!

Okay - NOW the Cynical New Yorker in "Me" is coming out . . . SOMETHING JUST DOES NOT SOUND RIGHT ABOUT THIS . . . And - either Pre-Orientation or when you go in - But Even More importantly, before you go any further corresponding with this "Background checking company", I am going to suggest very strongly to "You" that you contact the potential Employer that you interviewed with and let them know what is happening . . . Again, just a suggestion . . .;)

3. I've researched the company and found, while legit, they aren't very good. They've shipped most the jobs overseas, and have tons of complaints and lawsuits for reporting false info, outdated info, etc. I likely still speak with the recruiting rep handling my hire, if nothing else because they need to be aware of how crappy of a job they've done "checking". I just hope these idiots don't cost me the job. I'm still researching, but likely this is the company legitimately doing my background check, they just suck at it. Thanks for your opinions guys! I threw up the red flag when I got the email last night about KFC. Just ugh. I could really use this job, why can't it go smoothly? Argh.

3 I vape at work also. Not sure if I can but not sure if I care.
Technically the management of the stores know exactly what I do, and i do it in front of them in offices or backrooms, but the floor is prolly off limits and policy will be changed eventually. It's a food store afterall! As I said though I'm not sure if I care. 10 years ago I'd chain smoke in the backrooms so wth.

It is practically like that now.. All restaurants I have gone to ( and to put this in perspective.. I have cooked one dinner for us this month.) I will vape and not a single person ever says anything except one time I went to a bar and the woman said "hey you can't sm.. Oh it's an electronic cigarette!" So :vapor: vape on my vaping buddies!
