A magnet sticks to my chrome Vamo V2, but does not stick to my stainless Vamo V2. A magnet sticks to the battery caps on both, though. The magnet does not stick to either top cap.

!@#$%^!!!!
Thanks for verifying Stoneface. A fridge magnet sticks everywhere except the top to my so called 'stainless' vamo.

Sorry to hear it didn't go your way. It might not be worth it to return it, but I would add that I purchased the stainless from VB. I hope it's just a mistake, but at the very least they owe you a couple dollars refund. I honestly didn't have the kind of trouble with VB that recent customers have had, but I also haven't ordered from them since the end of February.

The fingerprints were a giveaway, wasn't expecting this from a stainless model (& the reason I ordered SS). Not worth it for me to return ship it and wait another month or 2 on who knows what I may receive, but I will be IM'ing tonite when they're on-line just to see they're response. Truthfully, I won't be doing any more biz with vaporbreak, so a store credit won't do me any favors.

Also have a stainless from VB, magnets do not stick, make sure you have the batteries taken out before test ;)

Yes, remove batteries...I didn't think to post that, I just took them out. Thanks!

With battery out, it doesn't stick to the lower half, but does stick where the electronics are. Also doesn't stick to the extender tube. Sticks to the end cap, but when I remove the gold spring, doesn't stick. So i DO have the SS apparently! Still shows lots of fingerprints.... I'd hate to see the chrome fingerprints if this is stainless! Thanks guys, I feel better :)

Good deal. I don't know about fingerprints, though...I wrapped the thing!

Took a month, but it's here! Ordered the SS, charger, & 2 18350 bats. The batteries are gray, made by DKL, says their 900mAH, rather hard to believe .... We'll see how they compare to my AW IMR's over time. The charger has a fold out AC plug, label saying 3.6v @ 700mAh and 1.2v @800mAh. I use a nitecore I4 charger, so this will be a backup, or office charger. For the money, the charger and batteries is a good deal, but I'd advise anyone to get a decent charger and good bats like AW, eFest, or Panasonic.

The vamo has the CE markings, no scratches, works just like its supposed to. Only issue I've noted is when I screw on a viva, it is slightly, just barely noticeable that the 510 connection isn't straight, maybe 1mm larger of a gap on 1 side compared to the opposite side. Everything came boxed in a nice black box with 'eGo Variable Volt/Watt APV' printed in silver on the outside.

All in all, happy with it .... Best of luck to those still waiting!!!

If they are marked as 900mah they are most likely NOT IMR batteries.. That means they are standard Li-Ion batteries and will need a good charger that turns off when full otherwise there is a serious fire risk..

just my $.02

Am I missing something? Why would a magnet not stick to steel?

Stainless steel is an alloy, & depending upon the specific mix of metals in this alloy, may or may not be magnetic. If the stainless alloy has nickel in it, its not magnetic. The chromium used in the chrome plating is magnetic.
