My new SS Vamo just arrived yesterday, and I really like it. I kinda thought the stainless steel would be a bit more... stainless steelier? It is less "brushed", and more polished/shined than I was hoping for. All of the features seem to operate correctly, and it does have a good, hefty feel to it so I am happy :) Out of curiosity I discovered something pretty cool. The Vamo's extension threads perfectly on my Puresmoker Legacy Mini. It is twice as long as one of the Legacy's extensions, enabling all sorts of battery/kick configurations. Sorry I guess that's more of a tip for Legacy owners, but a great way to put the Vamo extension to good use if you prefer to use it with a single 18350.

Whelp...
I can now definitively answer the "how is the v2 put together" question. :( It has been getting looser for the past few days, and then this happened:

OTOH I can fix the wobble in the circuit board now:

Sigh. And of course I don't have a spare today.. that would be too easy..

(ETA: It is just pressfit, it doesn't look like there is any glue or anything holding the 2 pieces together.)

question... reading my LR attys too low, at 1.1 ohms... not too long ago it said it was 1.5 ohms...
why is the reading going down??
would the #60 washer trick fix this??
With dc cartos I've had the gunk and cotton "diaper" burn to carbon and conduct across the wraps of the coil

One of mine is starting to come apart at the same spot as yours came apart. I dont want to try to fix it till it fully comes apart or I may really "fix" it and end up with a two piece non working Vamo. Not sure how hard I can hit this thing to try to get back in without destroying it. Good luck getting yours fixed.

I dropped or sit on mine and it was "bent" at that point I just pulled the atty off and held the top tight and hit it FIRMLY with the palm of my hand it squared right up and has been fine ever since.

Exactly. Just push it back together and all is well. (mostly well at least. Gonna rough it up with sandpaper and bond it better this weekend)

Can't say I've sat on mine Yet, that Would be a surprise! say no more! I've dropped it stacks of times, tried getting it apart with vice grips and tape and all I've achieved is a Grazed vamo. I'm convinced mine is welded together. Recently read a little heat on the seams will allow the tubes to come apart easier, heh, I can't even go there - probably fry the board.

Currently using Disconnect's tweezer method to straighten the board which works well, although personally, I'd prefer it if all the tubes screwed into each other especially the tube beneath the buttons. Would make for excellent modding possibilities. example.

My biggest concern about glue is not being able to get it apart again. Any glue recommendations? (should I Ever get mine apart.)

Sitting down, facing forward.
I don't think glue would be a good idea if you want to take it apart again in the future. I don't know how long the flange is between the electronics tube and the battery tube is. but I'd think a set crew, or two, would be a much better solution and allow taking it apart again relatively easily.

I've heard from others that the v2 is press-fit on theirs as well, so a side-to-side rocking/pulling should take it off without much trouble.

I like the set screw idea.

I took it apart again and without measuring, it looks to be about 4mm. (Almost, if not exactly, the same width as the threaded end.) Plenty of room for a set screw, but remember that the battery is directly behind it..

Acetone or nail polish remover (same stuff) has always worked to reverse super glues and epoxies for me. However, it would be best to test before using either on your VAMO.

I had quite a surprise the other day, for the last couple of weeks mine had been set to NO1 , just how it got that way I have no idea but I had checked it but thought NO1 was RMS (didn't try with it changed to NO2). Then I read the directions, I use 12 watts rms, that would be like 17 watts or something.

I did change the wattage and remarked at just how well it vaped at 6 watts, DUH

Finally finished reading Stephen King's Dark Tower series, AKA this thread!!! It was totally worth it, though. So much great info! Thanks to all who contributed to it. I am buying a Vamo as my first Mod, and I feel pretty educated now!

I suggest a Kanger Pro Tank for the Vamo! Something like: Kanger ProTank
