This is my 2nd kick at the proverbial cat for switching from analogs to vaping. Last time, I went 9 months without any hiccups. I'm now close to day 5 I think.

Anyways, I'm now loading up online with all kinds of goodies and I'm thinking of adding a Vamo V5 to the mix and wanted to hear what others think about it that have one now.

Good or no good?

Thanks

I have 2 vamo V2s and think they are "GREEAATT" (picture Tony the Tiger)

Pros - easy to use, easy to check ohms and battery charge, easy to change settings, able to use 510 or ego threaded tanks and clearos

Cons - easy to change wattage or voltage settings (yes, I know this was in the pros but sometimes you accidently hit one of the adjustment buttons and it changes), weak easy to strip 510 threads (I use a mini vivi nova beauty ring as a stopper to keep me from over tightening - has worked great for the last 11 months)

make sure it is in RMS mode (most newer VW mods do not have an option for "mean" setting anymore)

What he said. Loved my V5. Just handed it down to my fiance only because I upgraded to a dna 30 device.

I've had a v2 for about 8 months now and the v5 for maybe a month. Both are solid devices and still perform perfectly. I got a mvp2 about 3 months ago and unfortunately the threads are already stripped. It was a solid device as well with the exception of that but now it's practically a paperweight with my only option of using a protank mini on a good day. Neither vamos are having that issue. I would buy another vamo in a heartbeat. And probably will when the next one comes out.

I just got a V5 and I really like it. But I am just a newbie here. Been Vaping now for just 1 month.
Get a V5 with a Nautilus Aspire tank and you will be set.

BTW the V5 does have av/rms

I have this same setup and have been vaping for 31 days. I could be happy with this setup. If I had to do it again I would take a longer look at the MVP 2.

I have it now and I do like it but it's a beast to carry around. I now use it mostly just at home. I'm not yet into mods and not sure if I'm really ever going to be into the mods. My daily now is still an eGo c twist that still keeps on going and going and going.....I'm still looking around for something small that delivers....

I have a VamoV5 and use it exclusively as VW. It's easy to use, reliable and well built. As someone else said, remember to change it to RMS mode if you get it, it's set to mean out of the box for some reason. Would recommend it to anyone. It looks a bit silly in 18650 mode though, I keep mine in 18350 and with a few charged batteries ready.

I just weighed one of my V2s, loaded with 18650 battery and a full Vision Vivi Nova. 7.280 ounces. Hardly a wrist-snapper, weight-wise.

And it does bear a passing resemblance to a Star Wars light saber.

As far as durability goes, I'm still using the ones I bought in January 2013 (14 months). Both function just fine.

I got mine after an agonizing 2 week wait USPS priority, (unfortunatly I was not their priority:glare:) I have been using it for over a week and am a happy camper. I carry it in my duty belt along with a C-twist in my front pocket. I rotate about 10 tanks throughout the day and find it easy to adjust for the flavor and viscosity of juices I'm using. It does the job for me and does it well, no regrets from this product for me.

I have several vamos but don't like the body on the vamo 3. My latest is the vamo 5 and it works well. Most all mods that have the batteries work about the same, it is the topper that is more important and the coil build you like best. Here lately I have decided I like the sigelei v2 from FT just because it is lighter with the aluminum battery case. Will it last a long time ..who knows but it suits at the moment. I am a bit tired of stainless steel because it is so heavy with the battery inside. Besides I like red. https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10006734/1530301-authentic-sigelei-zmax-mini-variable-volt-watt

There are several options to deal with the soft threads. You can get an ego to ego adapter, get the stainless steel version, or stick to ego tanks.

I have a v3 and enjoy it. Just one thing to be ready for, if you want to vape over 12w, be prepared to stack batteries and deal with all that comes with that.
also be aware that replacement parts are available and the top is pretty easy to change out

I've had both the V3 and the V5 and I love them. I have the V3 in gunmetal and the V5 in stainless. Here's my pro's and cons.

Pros: Variable voltage/Variable Wattage. can change the power to suit your vape level or juice.
Easy button and menu system. Makes changing settings a breeze.
EGO and 510 threads, fits all common devices.
Removable top cap. Can be taken off for cleaning, or screwed up to the device to make a flush contact.
Removeable battery. Can replace the battery if the power is getting low.
Stainless Steel option - fingerprints are almost non existant.
Spring on bottom cap. fits a much wider variety of batteries.
Price. It is the best value per dollar IMO.

Cons: BIG. Not easily pocketable. Also makes a big thud if I put it down and accidentally knock it over.
15 Watt maximum. Like most Variable Voltage devices, it is limited to 15 watts, which limits it to primarily single coil
Angled at the top of the top cap. Just a beauty thing, but if it were strait, it would look better on more of my devices.
Too much gap between top cap and top of the 510 connector (vamo V5 only)
up and down buttons are too easily accidentally pressed. Sometimes vape, and realize the wattage has been kicked up or down some.

The competitors are the MVP 2.0 (no replaceable battery), Sigeli Zmax (price too high), Lambo 6.0 (Price+ no removable top cap), Provari (Price)

I prefer the V5 over the V3 for the most part. The V3 is heavier, looks funny, but seems to have a sturdier feel to it.

Just my two cents worth.
