Okiedokie - I have an ego-T as well - is yours type A (with the cone atty) or type B (with the cylinder atty)? Mine is a type A (cone), I'm not sure what the difference is other than the shape of the atty. What I've found with mine is that the silicone caps have a horrible breaking in period - during this time, anything I put in the tank tastes plasticky and kind of ick. I believe this is because the hole punched into the cap by the atty isn't large enough - I use a needle to make the hole a bit larger, but not too large or it will leak.
Another thing to check is whether the attys were sent with primer in them - if so, you have to blow that nasty primer out or it will taste like turpentine - it's horrible & could make you want to run screaming from the PV
My suggestion is that you order a couple different kinds of CARTOMIZERS, and get a feel for what you like. I fill my cartos with a syringe, and there are some quite large ones that will last you longer than the small ego-t tank (1.1ml-ish on the type A). I'm currently using a Stardust, C3s (smokeymizers), tankomizers and Echo-E horizontal coils in addition to my LR DCC in a 3.5ml tank.
My favorites right now are:
1.) the Echo-E because it holds about 2.5ml, burns very clean with clear flavor from the juices, seems to last a long time, and delivers solid vapor with no dry hits so far. I've been using since I got them last week, and last night I bought enough to last me 5-6months, probably longer - yes I made another order
2.) Dual Coil Carto Tanks - holds 3.5ml so it doesn't have to be filled often, delivers great vapor, and the cartos last a long time before dying. This is at least partially juice dependent, so your mileage may vary - clearer juices seem to make the cartos last longer, while darker juices seem to gunk them up faster - this is true of every carto I've used, which leads me to...
3.) Stardust (sometimes called Ego Vision) or tankomizer - these seem to vary a bit from vendor to vendor - I like the Stardust especially for darker juices - it's kind of a tank with carto built in, and no polyfill, just a wick at the top - Mine hasn't gummed up on me yet, and I've been vaping dark juice (thin mint and smores mostly) exclusively in it for about 10 days now.
The Tankomizer is really similar to the Stardust, but the version I have has a bottom wick rather than the top wick on the Stardust, which is nice.
Also worth trying - Boge 2.0 - they hold about 0.9ml, but work well, and Smoketek XL stainless steel dual coil 1.7, and all of them should work on your Ego T
Going back to your Ego-T issue, try making that hole a bit bigger with a syringe if you have one, but be careful not to make the hole too big
I hope all that makes sense and helps! You might also want to rinse out the ego-t kit to make sure the plastic smell and taste aren't still strong enough to alter the flavor of your juice/
