Everyone get's it Ken you post it in every thread where the word Stout appears.

Did you hear the new Chieftain device, it goes to 220W on two 18650's. Oh my good the insanity, that can be your new crusade.
There seems to be a need to repeat it due to people refusing to accept it. It's no different from warning people who build at .1 ohm and lower on single-battery mech mods. Or perhaps more correctly, people who use the b wrong batteries for their builds.

I don't but I believe that it needs to be appropriate to the device and it doesn't need to be repeated multiple times in a thread. It appears to me that the device itself is being targeted.

There are many single cell 18650 devices that go to 75W, dual 18650 devices that go to 200W or beyond that are being discussed in several threads that we are a;; participating in.

Like mechs, high wattage regulated devices whether it be single cell, dual cell or 26650 no one talks about the responsibility of the user or how a device can be used safely.

This from another thread:

And the response:

Having the information, good accurate information for our community is important. Just going into thread with a "sky is falling" proclamation without data doesn't help anyone.

I warn people not to go over 60w with 20 amp batteries on single 18650 mods, and I've repeatedly said that 200w with two 18650s is just a stupid and irresponsible design. The difference with mechs is that they have no electronic safety features (and users are therefore constantly urged to be responsible). Regulated mods, however, are specifically designed to perform a task, and if designed good they should be able to perform that task safely. As I've said, 200w with a two-battery mod or 100w with a single-battery mod is like designing a car that might explode when driven at its maximum speed. A user should be able to expect a regulated mod to work safely within its parameters.

Cobalt, I'm all about safety and you and I could dance on this topic for a while. I'm all about engaging someone in a healthy discussion.

If you read Mooch's post about 26650's they can be used at 100W in the device. That being said it's not advisable but neither is using a mech at .1 ohms which people continue to do after being told it's not smart.

My point is this, everyone shares a responsibility in using devices safely. Many manufacturers are building devices and marketing them aggressively. The DNA chip is a 200W device and people are putting them into devices with dual 18650's. We really have just begin to scratch the surface on safe LIPO batteries.

People make statements all the time without knowledge or providing supporting information. At times they just keep repeating the same thing all over the site and on multiple threads. I just don't believe it helps the membership or our community to make comments (unless it's opinion) about something without providing the education to go with it.

Also focusing on a single device and making sure you post repeatedly the same information in all of the product threads really isn't helping.

Like I already mentioned the problem isn't just what this device is capable of it's many devices that are being released that share the same profile. Chips are being added to devices and marketed beyond the batteries capacity.
The DNA200 won't do more than 133w with two batteries, at which point it's technically a DNA133 (and don't take this as me defending the Evolv, I'm actually quite disappointed with my Reuleaux dna200). As for the rest, check my earlier responses. I won't apologize for caring about safety, particularly in an environment where there's no (safety) regulations and vaping in general is facing hard times.

I'm still having issues with the mod not firing periodically. Today it started more frequently. I thought possibly the atty wasn't making a solid connection. Changed to a different atty and still having issues.
I contacted VF and they were really great. They offered a full refund or another exchange. I'm inclined to call it quits with this mod but I have as much invested in batteries as the mod itself.

Remember my rattly/wobbly button issue from a few pages back? Shot VF an email talking about it and the battery sleeve looseness. I've got a pre-paid shipping label and the RMA arranged with no hassles. Hard to beat that customer service, even with them aware I got the Stout in a giveaway.

They also said they're going with thicker o-rings in the battery sleeve in the next production run. And they referred me to Mooch's 26650 testing, with the caveat that VF didn't want to get involved in recommending specific batteries on their site for various good reasons.

This Stout is turning into my lucky mod! Somebody posted on a local Facebook vaping group last night, asking where to get Basen 3500mAh batteries. I told him I had found some good deals on the 4500mAh model on Ebay from a vendor I'd used before, but hadn't ordered any yet. He said he already had a brand new pair of those, and they were too short for his stacked hybrid mech, and that the 3500mAh version was the right length. He then asked if I wanted his 4500's, gratis, and of course I took him up on his kind offer.

Long story short, I've got a pair of free batteries for my free Stout, and they fit perfectly. Now I've got a karma deficit I need to work on. :)

Is it Me?

If I was an OEM and made a Mod that some Batteries didn't Fit in, I think I would put a Chart with Green Checks and Red X's in the description say'n what will Fit and what Will Not.

Why should someone wanting to buy a Mod have to go to an Internet Forum and ask Questions about what Batteries will work?

Think about it zoiD, it's not the first time. I have two DNA flasks that I can only fit the Sony VTC batteries into the device, every other battery won't fit. If Sony ever changes the diameter of their battery I'm screwed.
