Definitively, not possible, unless you know the type of smoke detectors being used for each plane and each airline. Anecdotal evidence available on the forum indicates that if you avoid blowing directly into the smoke detector, and avoid completely filling the space with vapor, you shouldn't have any problems vaping in the WC, and I can add my experience to that evidence.

Well, I made the flight just fine. I didn't set off the detector and actually vaped more in my seat than anywhere else. I basically just did the stealth vape technique and since I was sitting at a window I just turned my head toward the window when I inhaled and exhaled and nobody was the wiser. I didn't want to take the chance of being told I couldn't do it so I didn't bother asking.

I've haven't yet heard of anybody getting their gear confiscated at the airport. I'd just carry the stuff loose in your purse or carry-on bag. I'd be a little more leery of large bottles of e-juice or some of the bigger mods that look like pipe-bombs. If asked tell them what it is and if necessary promise not to use it. They're not against the law to own - yet.. except Singapore and maybe Colombia and Panama.

Kinda off topic but I would like to say something anyway. I have had to fly from PA to LA and San Fran a few times and that long a flight with 2 layovers is a long long time to go without a cig. If I have to go again for work I will be spending alot of time in the john with the door closed vaping and blowing down my shirt.

Cathay Pacific - Los Angeles to Hong Kong; Hong Kong to Shanghai; Shanghai to Hong Kong; Hong Kong to Jakarta; Jakarta to Hong Kong; Hong Kong to Los Angeles. I stealth vaped in all those flights with my 510. No one said a single thing. I check the Cathay Pacific in-flight magazine for restricted items. No mention of electronic cigarettes whatsoever.

As a side note, on the flight from Hong Kong back to LA. With only 80 minutes of flight times left, the flight attendent made an announcement that it was illegal to smoke aboard. I thought they were talking about me for a second, until they repeated the annoucement in Chinese. The Chinese annoucement said that someone was caught smoking in the bathroom. Poor guy.
