Well, today's the FT day. I had rather hoped to see it change status to Waiting for Packaging. No such change yet. ETA has disappeared, but no other visible change.

Could well be that nothing will happen until Monday. But I have seen packages switch to Waiting for Packaging over a weekend, even if they didn't then start Packaging, so this rather tells me it's not actually arrived at their factory yet, as I think that automatically triggers the change to Waiting.

But maybe they don't actually arrive until Monday. Though I rather wish they'd just set the ETA for Monday then.

Oh well, fingers crossed something will happen soon..

I must say it amuses me greatly that the HC comes in the same weird wooden box as the Hotcig clones. Well, a slightly larger version I assume :)

I have both coming but it's the Vapecige that I want the most. I picture an 18650 sled with two 3000 mah cells @ 22.2 watt hours in it's future.

That's a good idea! With that enormous chassis, that's a mod even I could do. I even have the sleds already.

My Opus 200 fits in the GS2 boxes perfectly so probably the same ones.

ETA 1 day from FT. So maybe Monday they'll start shipping? I'm almost certain when I do get it'll be broken, most likely cause the power button was depressed during transit from China to me in the US. Christ, I gotta get a PC already. Thank god my vape mall dna hasn't needed to be hooked up to escribe. Still only feels like half a mod without a PC tho. I'm a tinkerer.

It should ease your mind that the package the mod comes in has indents in the foam insert for all the switches and it's a pretty firm foam, so there should be no way for them to be depressed inside the box. But, someone reported the early firmware would allow battery's to drain below acceptable levels, and these are not updated to the latest firmware out of the box. Also over on the Planet of the Vapes forum they report the manufacture had stated they had received bad bunch of batteries which was the source of a lot of the early problems, true or false IDK.

But you will definitely want to have a PC ready with Escribe. At minimum to do the firmware updates. Also if yours comes in below charge like mine was between 1.58V - 1.68V it won't work for you and you'll need to do a USB Recovery charge. There's also some settings that can only be changed through Escribe that cant be changed on the device that can make for a terrible vaping experience if not adjusted before hand.

Is it possible for you to list us what are the settings that can only be changed through escribe?

I don't know if Vlad1 is willing to re-write the Escribe manual but that is about what it would take to answer your question.

Down load the manual or watch the video and you will get a good idea of what Escribe can do that you can't do with three buttons.

i dont have a device with me to say but i can tell you on the device its self you should be able to set watts, (possibly temp not sure), switching profiles, stealth mode, obviously turn on and off. I can tell you theres about 93 different things you can do in escribe but i cant list them off the top of my head, just a number that stuck with me throuh watch a review. you can use this just as a vw device without escibe but you get the best out of it with the software which can only be done on a computer right now

It's much easier to list what can be changed on mod: The power/wattage, the temperature in TC mode, the rotation of the screen. And whether it's locked or in stealth mode, if you count those as 'settings'. Then on-mod you can also switch between profiles, but these have to be set up on the PC.

Profiles are the most notable thing missing from on-mod. Profiles are where you store your TCR, meaning your setting for TC vaping on different wires. Out of the box TC is Ni200 only, the worst TC wire. For Titanium, Stainless Steel, and other wires, new profiles need to be set up via the PC. You can also give different pre-heat settings to the profiles, though personally I can see little need and keep all my pre-heats at the same level. Beyond that there's configuring the screen layout (what information is displayed on normal screens), custom screens if you want - you can change all the error/warning/info messages, for example. And various more advanced settings.

And yes, definitely read the eScribe manual and/or watch the video. There's quite a lot to it, although it's all optional. Except Profiles, I wouldn't count that as optional personally :)

There's a lot that cant be done on the device. Without Escribe it's like having half of a mod IMO. Like HolmanGT said take a look at the manual and watch some vid's. But one of the main things you'll probably want to change is your Preheat settings. Profiles are pretty much useless without Escribe. If your using Ni200 you can use the built in Ni200 setting to work as intended but if your using any other coil type your out of luck unless you use Escribe to update with a custom TCR table or use offsets.

You've waited nearly a month and you're going to cancel right before it ships? ;) At $114?

Admittedly the Hotcig at $124 is very good too..
Believe me, that is the only thing stopping me from canceling. I just wanna see some results already or at least an ETA that wasn't pulled out of someone's *ss.

Out in the yard today cutting down a tree and mowing I came into two issues. The first is "Refinement" I'm not a fan of it after the Dry Hit it delivered to me today. I mainly buy Temp Limiting devices to prevent dry hits but it appears at least in my case the Refinement caused my dry hit. For whatever reason it decided to change my resistance without any type of notification then Bam burn the hell out of my throat on my next puff. I let it sit for a while and it went back to the resistance it's been for the last 4-5 days and I Locked the resistance and it's been consistent ever since. I will definitely be locking the resistance from now on. In my mind if the device wan'ts to automagically make adjustments to key variables it should let the user be aware, something similar to New Atty Yes or No but it didn't do that it just blew out the back of my throat.

The second issue is I've confirmed my 510 is glued and not pressed. I thought that it was being SN: 0104 but wasn't sure until today. So don't put it in your back pocket or put any pressure onto the 510 if yours is in doubt.
