I'm reading Pillers of the Earth right now, have you heard of it?

I've heard of it, a great work, but haven't read it.

My novel isn't of that type. In his legitimate duties, my protagonist doesn't usually spend more than a day in one place/time -- he's assigned to go in, see what actually happened (or didn't happen), and get out without being noticed. That's for ethical reasons.
He's set up housekeeping in the past to use as a staging area for illicit activities, but he's still insulated from the locals because he just doesn't like being around them. Getting involved with the politics of the age isn't his bag.

Just something to share . . .

If you're looking for good alternate-history, I highly recommend Harry Turtledove's The Guns of the South. Turtledove is an accredited historian, and his story is very realistic (well, except for the guys who come back with a load of AK-47s to help the South with the Civil War).

Another things about history is that it was a rare moment when someone wasn't fighting someone. The 19th and 20th Century were relatively peaceful, and the 21st is downright peaceful, in comparison.

Yup I'm still hanging around. I go out and about quite bit but mostly durring the day after I get done at school. I LOVE makeup and fun hair do's. Right now I'm blonde and violet :) But I hardly ever get all gussied up, but on special occasions like date night with my hubby or around special holidays I love to play with fun colors of eyeshadows!!!
How about you Pri? What is your fav type of restaurant to go to?

Physicists have already managed to teleport photons from one Canary Island to another, which is a huge step forward in creating teleportation technology. They are also trying to create wormholes and ways to bend space fabric, so that you wouldn't have to travel light years, but instead take short cuts between galaxies.
I hope that one day physicists prove that our universe is just one frequency among others that we are not able to experience right now, but hopefully in the future.
