'Sup everyone! Hope you all are doing well :) Any of you going to check out the Vapor Loft's opening this weekend? I'm going to try to go Sat morning if I can escape the kidlet for a few hours!

 "Kidlet" -- I like it! Hmmm... I hadn't thought about it. Probably not, but I'll think about it.

oh and one other thing... I hope we can all meet up again in the next couple weeks and I was wondering if any of you build your own coil/wicks? I'm ready and wanting to learn how, but all the videos I've been watching just aren't cutting it. I need a quick hands-on lesson if anyone is willing to give it!

I'm not sure yet. They're not going to have a lot of cool stuff yet for the soft opening, plus I think the GF might be getting sick of going to vape shops every weekend lately. :)

If you don't have the patience then 25 cents a piece is hard to beat! :)

That's a great price! But I really want to learn how to build them myself because I want to start using cotton wick.

You beat me to that ^

I think the gas expended vs. the free tank is not equitable for me to drive to wherever "Orange" is. If I don't know where it is, it must be far LOL

Yes, it's certainly way too far for you. Orange is in the Anahaim/Disneyland area.

I've never tried it with cotton, but I'd be happy to give you a demo with silica wick next time we get together. After one or two tries, it's a piece of cake!

No I've never tried mesh. I've been a little curious about it, but the part I have the most difficulty with on my rebuildables is rolling a little mesh into a tube for the wick. Wrapping a coil is the easy part. I've always avoided the Genesis-style atomizers because I think making a mesh tube that large would drive me up the wall!

BTW, if you guys are going to do rebuildables, it's a good idea to pick up a multimeter so that you can check the resistance, if you don't have one. Or you could get one of these: Cartomizer and Atomizer Ohm Meter -- perhaps not as versatile as a proper multimeter, but way cool, nonetheless! V, I suppose you wouldn't really need a multimeter because you could just use your Provari to check a rebuilt atomizer's resistance.

^ yeah that!

ETA: just another example of how it is saving me money
i still haven't seen a shipping notice on the box mod I got though...

Hmmm... maybe they got slammed with orders after that sale. I've dealt with one or two companies that don't seem to send out shipping orders too, so maybe that's it.

So Cal
Building wicks & coils is possibly one of the easiest things ever once you've done a couple practice runs. For my phoenix atomizers I use a 3/32 drill bit to wrap the coil and then use a lil juice to wet the ends of the cotton to slim it down and make it easier. Wrap the coil, pull the wick through, space the coils a tad, mount it & vape.

For the vivi heads I use the paper clip method. Lay the cotton on the clip, wrap the coil, twist the legs, put the whole works in the vivi head, re-do the bottom grommet & pin, remove the paper clip & space the coils. I use an xacto knife to space those ones because its thin and works great.
