Vapers that love Android and Google Chrome

I was about to post that to you and then I read this post! Yes, all other PV's will feel like lightweights the more you vape your Provari. The Provari is on the heavy, hefty side, but that will become normal and every thing else will feel like it's lightweight and dinky. Stainless Steel vs aluminum. Aluminum is good for flashlights maybe, but SS makes a PV last a lifetime.

My Mini Lambo 4.0 feels pretty solid to me but I have never held a Provari.

America had internet first. Our backbone used version 1 hardware. As it expanded to other nations they bought the latest hardware and got the higher bandwidth. That's one reason. The other is that our internet access is controlled and limited by private enterprise to make the highest profit. If you want a T3 line, you can get super speed for an astronomical price. Otherwise, we'll sell you a trickle for a premium rate. When the big commercial guys are in heavy usage, home internet gets throttled. They service the high end accounts with the fastest routes.

When I was in the network lab at Central Ga Technical College, the first thing I noticed was that the internet browser response was instant. You click and it appears with a snap. I asked the instructor about it and she told me that they were on a statewide internet link through state government that was outrageously fast. Lag was non-existent and latency was so low as to be almost nothing. You'd download a file from a web site and it was like taking a picture. The thermometer was gone almost as it began, like you were loading a file from a hard drive.

That's really interesting. When was that? What years?

My first internet exposure was through GEnie back around the first couple of years of the 90s. It was text mode and the first browsers were being released about that time. Before Netscape, compuserve software was it for me.

My sister used Compuserve. We used Q-Link Just for Commodore 64 users. Oh boy was it expensive compared to now!

I'm not sure if it's still PeachNet. The instructor told us that they had created a new system using a faster provider.

My sister used Compuserve. We used Q-Link Just for Commodore 64 users. Oh boy was it expensive compared to now!

My first direct exposure to the Internet was at VSU, tho previously when I was with my parents who were stationed in Germany, I had a Compu$erv account, as well as ran my own BBS that was on most of the popular networks, and there were at least email gateways.

PeachNet was the name of the .edu network that we at least used for PPP dialup. Oy, talk about fun ... I was successfully doing PPP dialup via Linux in 1995. Went cross eyed a few times from the .rc files, but I made it work.

I was also crafty enough to be able to make MeritPPP work in DOS and get WfW3.11 to link to it and be able to have a more "natural" feeling Internet experience before Win95 came about. Using Merit at the DOS level was a lot better than Trumpet's dialer for Winsock.dll for sure.

Will say this, of all the OSes I used back in those days, IBM's OS/2 Warp 3.0 and 4.0 were hands down the easiest to get working for home use dial up internet access via SLIP or PPP.

Hello everyone,I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I love Android, have been rooting and ROMing since the original Droid a few years ago. I currently own a galaxy nexus and a nexus 7 and love them both.
As for vaping, I've been doing that since last Christmas and can't wait for my one year anniversary so I can treat myself to a high end VV device, probably a Provari, but we'll see what's out at Christmas. Anyway I'm glad to be here and can't wait to get to know you all.

That's really interesting. When was that? What years?

I early retired in 2010 after 36 years of being a field engineer in a technical job and always wanted to go through Cisco CCNA network engineer school. So I did in 2010-2011. It was a one year technical college course that crammed your head full with a test every week. It was all based on Cisco hardware and they took you through networking from the ground floor all the way to implementing a wide area network. When you get through you have all the head knowledge but can't remember it all without going back and refreshing. It's like anything else. As long as you have the resource material, you recognize it quickly when you review it and training comes back. You really need to work in a hands on job for a while to relate the head knowledge to a hardware relationship. That's the way you begin to realize what you have to refine and get good with and which subjects you can rely on the documentation when the time comes.

I planned to seek out a job after school to get the hands on knowledge, but found that I didn't really need to work and haven't been job hunting. I have friends in IT and could probably get hired somewhere. After that year of pressure I enjoyed being retired more than I wanted to get back in the grind! My wife and I have been keeping a couple of grand-nephews. The oldest one just started first grade and the 3 year old will start 4k next year. She really needs me around for backup with the 3 year old. He and Uncle Dave are buddies. In a year he will get into 4k and we will be free to pursue other interests. I may look for some part time network employment to cure the boredom. She's talking about doing the same.

You should mark that battery. It's obviously exceptional. Is it an AW 2000mah IMR 18650? I can start a freshly charged battery in the morning and vape it all day, but I usually put it on the charger and swap it out after supper. I like to vape them down to about 3.5v and change. Continuing to the 3.2v cutoff is supposed to shorten the life. I've been rotating 4 18650's for about 6 months and they still perform like new. I'm probably a heavier vaper, but I could get 24 clock hours from an AW IMR.

I love my phone, and I love all the development for the phone. I love being able to change ROM's daily, weekly, or monthly if I want. The N7 is awesome because it's the same thing as my phone in looks, and what ROM's I can flash to it. I love being able to have 2 cool ROM's on almost the same device and comparing them.
I have found I have just as much fun with vaping. I'm learning it can be a new hobby that right now seems to be rivaling my hobby of ROMing my phone.

actually no I'll admit to cheating and using a 2600 lithium ion...I'm not a heavy vapor though by any means....most of my juices have low or zero nicotine...I started a fresh 2k imr right at about 2:30 and I'm sitting at 3.8 volts 7 hours into the discharge...so still not bad by any means...I tried cheating with my 3k lithium but it's too big for the provari even with the excap...so I guess I won't know what the life is going to be like on that monster until I'm done building the mod I'm working on atm...rest assured I'll let you all know when I find it

Welcome to the thread Stacy! I have a white Galaxy SIII on Verizon and a Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. Love them both!!! As for vaping, I just recently got a Mini Lambo 4.0 from Discount Vapers that I really like and I also have an Ovale V8 also from Discount Vapers, its been retired since I got the Mini Lambo though.

Oh wow, remembering the BBS I was on back in the day. Point Zero. Zero had seven phone lines going into her house so seven people could chat at once.... sigh..... the days
