Lived in Valdosta for several years, my parents are still there and I visit regularly. All 3 of us are on Sprint. I never have any signal problems when I am in town visiting them. They never have signal problems anywhere in town. Briefly there were issues getting a signal out at Moody, but even that's been resolved now.

Looking at the two coverage maps, in GA Sprint has only minimal coverage around the major thoroughfares. Verizon paints 90% of the state with only a few small dead zones. I've found that to be true. Our company had Nextel for years and then went to AT&T and finally Verizon. Verizon was pretty much good wherever we went.

Sprint covers the Atlanta area pretty well. Looking at the rest of the state, much of it is off-network roaming once you leave a major highway. It's kind of hard to tell which is roaming and which is coverage with varied signal strength.

Me too!!! Nexus 7!
Matt, I was curious as to what you said about getting a box with no OS, and putting OS10 on it. How would you do that? Sorry for being such a rube.

newegg.com....look at laptops, but laptop, buy osx, receive in mail, boot from disc.

Good reason to buy a case for a tablet. Best buy assured me that my Kindle would die from a drop if I didn't buy their suggested case. Wouldn't it be in the best interest of all these manufacturers to include a rubberized surround? Probably not. It would keep them from being able to declare how thin their product is. A little fat prevents broken bones in humans. Maybe a little fat would ensure the life of a tablet. Naw, they want us to buy a new one.

it's true lol...I actually was at best buy yesterday looking at tablets...to be completely honest I was genuinely impressed with the Windows 8 tablets, in particular the surface....however the os is still brand new, and I think I'm going to wait a bit before I would jump on it to see what kind of bugs happen...

I briefly read an overview of Win 8 in Maximum PC mag a few weeks ago. Looks like it's primarily cloud based and geared toward touch screen interfaces. They pretty much agreed that they would be sticking with Win 7 for the time being on their desktops and laptops, but thinking about changing to Win 8 on their tablet devices.

well what I liked about it was that it was really a full blown desktop OS in tablet form....anything that could be run on Windows could run on a w8 tablet...and I'd be totally stoked to have that kind of power in a tablet, however, I'm still leaning more toward the n7 due to the price point...but with the tech specs on the n7...I'm sure I could pull off a dual boot of sorts with it to boot ubuntu as well, which would eliminate my want for the w8 platform...at least for the time being anyways.

looking forward to seeing how it goes though, I'd love to see a w8 tablet that could run some high end mmos, that would be worth me jumping ship over there in the tablet market.

I don't see why you couldn't dual boot into Ubuntu using a N7. You can check some Android sites to see if there is a program to do that with. It's a lot of tablet for the money. I love mine and there is quite a bit of development for the N7, so if you like to play and are a crackflasher like myself you would be very happy with the N7, IMHO...

I'm sure it can be done...and it will have a lot if devs behind it just because it's a nexus device...thing is though with the w8 tablets I know I would be able to dual boot it...because well, it's Windows...I could even triple boot it if I really wanted...I'm wondering if I could do the same with the n7 as well...would be nice to have a monster like that....the only issue would be the limited on board storage with no expansion.

The on board storage is a huge issue to me, and lots of other people who own them. You can dump your internal SD card pretty easy onto your PC though and keep your storage a little more open...

right....the benefit of the w8 tablets, however, was that some of them (the one i was looking at the most did) have a full blown USB 3.0 port....so i could, teoretically speaking, use an external HD, or even a jump drive, to boot into whatever tablet OS i'd like....which was one of the more attractive features of them to someone like me....hell i'd even love to grab one of the new ultrabooks, as they offer all the options of a tablet+a laptop all in one...hell i could have about four or five OS's running through one of those lol....i'm sure i'll figure out something by the end of the holiday system though

If I was a programmer that might be the way I would go...:)

i'm not a programmer....i just like options....i keep windows around strictly for gaming these days (as you just can't do that well in linux)...i use linux for just about all my productivity functions, gimp, and of course android compatibility....however for tablet functions, i'm entirely undecided, as i don't currently own a tablet, but am in the market for xmas.

FWIW, if you use Adobe X or Adobe XI, there's a banking exploit that can be attached to Adobe X/XI documents. Apparently, it can sift through your data and extract enough information to deplete your bank account if there's any account numbers, logins, or passwords on your hard drive to find. You might think there are none, but your browser puts your logins into a file for future use if you elect to let it save passwords for auto login.

Wow! Thank goodness I am using Chrome - the article says that Chrome has extra protection against this, where Firefox and IE don't.
