I agree.. I never use S-voice and go out of my way to actually disable it. . I honestly would prolly do the same thing with SIRI if I had an iphone but overall it's a gimmick to me..
Sandy new AVA! :) vaping away!! Your enjoying it so much it almost looks like your smoking something else :p

Loving my s3 still 4 months later.. Otterbox broke but being they are such a damn good company a new free replacement is being sent as we speak..
Still stock, still scared after bricking then smashing the s2.. :)

I'd like your opinion and others opinion here as well...should I get a Nexus 10 or an Asus TF700t? They both look like awesome devices but I have called around everywhere locally (Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot and Walmart) and no one carries the Nexus 10 in store! I would sure like to at least hold one before I buy it, ya know?

Do you have am HH gregg nearby? I noticed they carry the nexus tablets where no one else around did.

Hey Dave, you woke the thread back up. Android.Rocks.Period.

I am a teensy bit jealous when I see those Siri ads. The voice recognition in Android works great for me so far, just has no intelligence.

Sandy

The apps such as Jeannie have the same sort of intelligence. Remember, Apple did not create Siri, they acquired a company who developed it, then tweaked it to meet their needs. Other developers have used the same technology so similar functions are available elsewhere.

s-voice is the samsung version of siri.. Same crap..

With ICS, the Android voice app was a little anemic. Jelly Bean seems to have fixed that. I use it when I'm driving and need a map.

Where am I? And ... Google pops up a map with a GPS blinking arrow. It also works for restaurants, stores, and other things you want to know at a stop light. Sometimes she vocalizes and sometimes she pops up pertinent information. The Google Shopper app now has voice search. You can say "40 inch TV" and it will produce a list of major stores with locations in your area in ascending price. Flip through and choose.

I like a bigger phone just for the extra real estate on the screen. I don't know if I'd want any more than the 4.65" size of my Galaxy Nexus, but the Nexus is so much bigger than my previous HTC Eris. Some of my friends have Iphones and to me they look dinky. Before, I thought mine was tiny next to the Iphone.

Back when phones were just phone and text, I wanted small. Now that they are multimedia devices, I want bigger.

My mom and dad have the iPhone 4S and I have a Galaxy S3, I hate using their phones now that I've been blessed with my GS3s beautiful big screen! So I took the plunge yesterday and got the Asus Transformer Infinity TF700! I can't use it til Christmas and I want to soooo bad!!! Lol.

It ticks me off that I have to get a new phone or root to get Jellybean. This is the longest I have ever had the same phone, and I have really grown to like it. I still have my Samsung Droid Charge.

If you buy a Samsung Galaxy Nexus you get upgrades quickly. My Nexus came with Ice Cream Sandwich and the Jelly Bean upgrade came about one month later when it was released. The quick update is because it is a Google Phone from Verizon. We got ours free from Best Buy. Those deals float around between different carriers. It's almost a year since it was released, but itwas cutting edge last Christmas and still holds its own for speed and power.

I'd like to have a Galaxy SII or III, but I didn't want to pay $249 for it when we upgraded. The Nexus is a 1.2ghz dual core phone that's fairly fast in the reviews. Quad core phones are coming out and eventually the 8 core models will arrive, but how much power do you need in a phone? :) The camera on the Nexus will take shots about as fast as you touch the shutter icon and all will be in sharp focus if you don't jiggle it when you press the icon. It's a good phone with a 4.65" AMOLED screen that displays brilliant colors. Some have 16gb memory and others have 32gb depending on the cell mode of the carrier. Mine has 32gb.

BTW, here's a list of phones that are going to or have already been upgraded to Jelly Bean. Here's what it says about the Droid Charge.

• Samsung Droid Charge: This Samsung phone never received even a mention of Ice Cream Sandwich. With no discussion since the days of Gingerbread, a sudden jump to Jelly Bean doesn't seem likely.
