Today I congratulated myself on reaching my two week marker of vaping on my facebook status. Now most of my friends shared joy in my success but one however responded, "except for the water in the lungs". Now out of all the things I have heard negative, this is not one. Anyone have any idea where this would come from, or if there is any evidence to this?:confused::confused:

Well, you have a few things going here:

1. The alveoli in the lungs actually need to be moist to function.
2. The internal surface area of the average person's lungs is 75 square meters, roughly the size of one side of the singles section of a tennis court.
3. While you may be vaping in more "moisture" than a normal breath, you have 2 things going against the comment:
3a. It's not water.
3b. If you look at the potential effect of a puff of vapor (and you get to do this because it's in vapor form and not liquid) on the surface area of half a tennis court, umm...yeah.

lol. true.

@ OP
They say that drowning is a very "peaceful" way to die. If its true, i will take that over suffocation (and eventually cancer) any day!:p

drowning is suffocation...just thought i'd note that

All I have found on the whole water thing is A. your body loses quite a bit of water just by breathing (up to a liter a day) and B. water vapor displaces oxygen molecules so you get less oxygen with every breath. my info is not totally accurate because I only spent 10 minutes looking online.
I did ask my wife who is a nurse about it and she said it's probably nothing to worry about because your body would let you know if you had water build up in your lungs quite quickly.

In your bushes, watching you undress
I recently had a health scare that put me in the hospital with several cardiac and lung tests.

After FULL scans of my lungs, I can attest that I had NOTHING in there at all. At the time I had been vaping around 2 months or so. A nice aside... my lungs had already significantly cleared up from my 20+ years of smoking thanks to vaping.

I'm sorry you were hospitalized but Its great to see the sudden benefits that switching to vapor has on even the most hardened of smokers.

Its strange when you think about peoples fear of trying something new. When i started smoking (analogs), I do not remember saying "hmm... I have heard bad things about these so, no thanks, ill pass..." I lit em up! and thats after seeing 2 grandfathers die of lung cancer. The anti-e cig machine is a creative beast. :)
