So a few days ago, I went to the Shinedown concert in Evansville -- my girlfriend is a huge fan, and the tickets were a valentine's day present.

Anyway, we got in super early, and I think I stealth vaped a bit too much!

Just kidding, but look at all that PG in the air from the fog machines -- and that's just what they had built up before the show! So yeah, I vaped through the whole concert, barely "stealthing" it, since I could barely see what I was exhaling with the haze the fog machines pumped out. I bet the other concert-goers inhaled more PG from being at the concert than I would inhale on a typical day. I mean, it was even mildly hazy out by the building entrances!

Just thought you'd all get a kick out of seeing that...

What a prime example in favor of e-cigs. I have used my PV in public many times and many people have complained at me, their arguments being irrational and ignorant. The exact same ingrident in these fog machines are in my PV; it doesn't seem like anyone at the concert was having an asthma attack, or even giving a second thought as to what they were inhaling.

Just the idea of something that looks like smoke coming out of something that looks similar to a traditional cigarette is appaling. I guess what I'm saying is that all the rage toward e-smokers is generated from the bias toward actual smokers, in part by the smoking bans created to (justly) segregate them from non-smokers. People go by their first reaction; unless they are actually intillegent and open minded, they never look back. "It looks like a cigarette, so it MUST be bad."

I didn't mean to hijack your post with my rant, but I had to get that off my chest :D

I've vaped at a few concerts now, its nice and I'm sure the people around me are happier with me doing that than what I have been guilty of in my reckless youth past - "stealth" analog smoking (lol) at concerts where you can't smoke. cupping the cherry in my hand etc, I'm sure every non smoker within 10 rows could smell those

I understand about concerts; about 3 weeks after I started vaping, I had built up quite a supply of Volcano ecigs/batts/attys (yeah, Volcanos were my 'gateway'.) I had grown accustomed to carrying around 5-6 assembled auto-Volcanos with different flavors in the carts. Anyway, my parents invited my wife and I to a Rain concert (Beatles tribute band, great show btw). So I wasn't thinking, and had all these auto batts sitting in my shirt pocket. Within a half hour, I notice my shirt was REALLY hot, and it was at that point I realized the loud music had activated each of my ecigs, meaning I had 6 torches burning my chest. After disassembling each unit, I was able to enjoy the show, but I had no vape for the rest of the evening. 6 busted attys, burnt carts, etc. So:

WARNING: DO NOT TAKE AUTO batteries TO A CONCERT, YOU WILL GET BURNT.

To my knowledge there are only the two types of autos. The Microphone chips (my guess is they are cheaper to make) and the actual airflow chips. I have been interesting in buying an auto 510 battery, but haven't found an airflow chipped one yet. I do enjoy manuals, but I would like to just sit back hands free every once in a while.

anyone have any problems going to a concert where there is a metal detector at the door and losing their PV? Ill be going to one soon and there is a metal detector at the door. I dont want to get there and have them take it or tell me i cant bring it in.

I would just put it in the tray, since it has metal in it. It's not a weapon and it isn't illegal, so they should have no more reason to confiscate it than they would a pack of Marlboros.

My wife and I recently saw Gogol at First Avenue, and we had a pretty easy public vaping experience. I'm a chatty guy, so I spent quite a bit of time leaning on the bar with my VK in one hand, my beer in the other, and an audience to talk at. Not one dirty look through the whole show, and I think about 40 people now have a better understanding of the personal vaporizer. I did catch myself redirecting my vapor over peoples heads, which I've decided is a courteous enough habit to keep.

I hadn't thought about sound activating an auto E-cig, but it's a good thing I bought manuals! I play in a contemporary praise band at church that plays a lot of rock and roll based tunes and we get fairly loud at times. I stand right in front of my amp playing a Les Paul and I'm sure the sound would activate some of the autos.

I know the feeling of an activated atty in the pocket. Mine was in my pocket with my keys the other day and I began to feel the heat from the button being pressed by the keys somehow. It got hot in a hurry but didn't burn out the atty. Lucky, I guess, but I probably lost some life on that one down the road.
