I wish I could vape at my desk. A work contract jobs and my latest contract is with a company that is the last holdout in a building that will be demolished in a few months to build condos. I take my gear down to the next floor to vape so it's almost like I can vape at work.

The cool thing is the guy next to me is a vaper bobbiest like myself so we can compare gear. Pretty sweet!

Chipotle.
I'm lucky enough to work for a really good friend in an automotive shop, the atmosphere itself sort of implies a bit more freedom than most jobs, as a matter of fact if I think back to every single shop I've worked at they all allowed the techs to smoke in or very near to the work bays, so even when I smoked I was able to do it right at my tool box. Nowadays I vape very very hard at work, so much that on any given day you can see a haze of vapor rolling out of the bay doors to the shop, all of the other businesses in the same complex know me as "that vape guy" and not a single complaint has been made to date. There are a few other vapers in the same complex but nobody else uses mechanicals or subohms on the daily so they're always in amazement at how much vapor I produce and how much juice I go through, I've been averaging 7-10ml a day more recently. I get lots of comments from the other coworkers to the effect of how good my clouds smell, and while some customers seem a bit confused at first after 2 minutes of me explaining everything to them they're asking me where they should go for a starter kit, I've probably converted a dozen random people to vaping simply because they saw me blowing clouds in the back shop area.

i work for a corporation and I am in no way allowed to vape at my desk nor in the building, I have to go outside with the smokers.
this is a bit frustrating because I have been trying o quit smoking analogs for a while now and I have to go smell the smoke from others... makes me want to...
talked with my boss, she has no problem with me stealth vaping.... but not sure what the repercussions would be if I got caught....

I just realized something else too...

I'm from Chicago and in Cook County the outlawed vaping indoors, on train platforms, on public transportation in general. Then recently I've been in the suburbs and me and my room mate vape on the bus, in the mall... pretty much everywhere and we don't get any complaints. Could be that the policy hasnt made it to this county yet. Never thought about that...

You are correct, the ban is only for the City of Chicago/Cook County. I remember a few years ago they tried to completely ban cigarette smoking out in I believe Oaklawn or something and it failed miserably. I take the bus/train to my job at the airport. I hate that I cant vape lol but it's cheaper than driving 15 miles to the airport.

I'm blue color, so I don't vape in an office setting, but I do get to pretty much vape constantly at work. As a matter of fact, everyone knows that I grab a different setup at lunch when I go home, so a lot of people ask what the new one is. I've been lucky enough to be able to convert quite a few people into vapers, and it's amazing how many people I run into that vape. I'll be speaking with a tradesman of some sort, me standing there with my vape in hand, and it's really fantastic how many of them will reach into their pockets and produce something like a spinner with a protank mini or something. vaping is a lot more prevalent than I thought it was.

I work in a shared office with 2-3 other guys and I used to vape inside until one of the guys said something about it, now I go outside out of courtesy to him. One of the other guys I share an office with turned me on to vaping and my boss has also started vaping as well, so technically I am allowed to vape at my desk but choose not to.

Yep. There is no policy against vaping so I vape openly at my desk. I work as a tech writer in a cubicle with three other writers and none of them mind that I vape (I asked them as a courtesy). I started with ego batteries and clearos as they were more "cig like" and inspired less gawking from bystanders, but now I unabashedly vape two MVP2s with IBTanked carto tanks.

My boss makes me vape outside. Oh wait, I'm the boss and I work outside. The fish don't seem to mind.

What an awesome picture... beautiful salmon.

I work from home too, so vaping 'at work' is no problem for me. I still like to step outside once in awhile and vape. I live in a very near Chicago suburb (Burbank) and I vape outdoors in public around shopping areas all the time, but I typically refrain from vaping on public transporatation or in stores simply as a courtesy. I'm not sure if it would be a problem or not, I've never seen anyone else vaping indoors anywhere either. Maybe someday I'll happen by one of you guys from the area. I have met other vapers, and some have approached me in various places when I'm parked and or walking and vaping, but that's about it. Always have a lovely time when I meet another vaper somewhere unexpected.

I hear that.

I'm a service writer / parts manager / office manager at a specialty mechanic shop (refrigerated transportation).

I used to smoke a pack a day at my desk. I'm the only person here who doesn't turn a wrench so I'm the only one in the office. Everyone here smokes, all day, one after the other.

I've been vaping now for a little over a month and my office is finally starting to lose the ashtray smell. Well, except when one of my techs comes in with a cig. I could be a .... and tell him to put it out, but I won't be that guy.

we have smoking area at my work. i haven't been to office in awhile due to health issue, not related to smoking. i took my setup to the work on past monday. there were usually crowd at the smoking area and one of the co-worker took interest. he's been thinking about vaping also since he also has kids and he is concerned about his long term smoking. we discussed what i have and how this can actually save money, and better than smoking for us. he thought it was neat. no one really bother smokers at our work. people are very polite and most smokers will move out of the way for non smokers.

funny thing is, i have been smoke free for only 5 days and smell of smoke bothers me already. i'm making sure i don't become like other ex-smokers who point fingers at others. i means, smoker or vaper, we all pay tax, and our rights.. i'm not really sure why were are being targeted like we have some communicable disease or something. right of everyone and their mother is being looked after other than that of the smokers, and i'm getting fed up.

I work for a law firm that handles mesothelioma and asbestosis law suits, and the backlash I got from management when they found out I smoked cigarettes sonmewhat drove me to switch to vaping, which I though might go over better ... absolutely not. I even got complaints about me carrying my vape with me when I would go outside and was instructed to "leave that stuff in [my] car."
