Rule #1: Don't vape in a scenario where it might become offensive to others. Vaping is under fire and you want the general public to view vapers in a positive light whenever possible. (***Some people disagree with this rule, citing something akin to what I put as rule #2, but really... everyone's lives are made easier by just being respectful of each other)

Rule #2: When you do vape in public, don't act like it's something you need to hide. That would just enforce the idea that it's something you shouldn't be doing.

That's about it.

Hi I'm new to ECF and this community seems amazing :) thanks for letting me be part of it.

ive recently switched over to vaping and was wondering if the same rules apply for cigarette smoking etiquette as for vaping etiquette? Are there any additional like guidelines or anything I should know about vaping?

thanx

Yes!

Welcome to ECF Digital. So enormously refreshing to see someone new to vaping actually consider the etiquette aspect!

Yep, I'm kind of in the same boat as the peeps who have posted ahead of me.

Outside - I vape at will unless I'm in a crowd of non-smokers or non-vapers.

Indoors - I follow the rules/laws of the establishment in regards to smoking, with a few exceptions - At work, I vape at my desk. I play on several pool leagues and I vape in the pool halls. I also vape in my home and car.

If it doesnt offend others i vap where i want. Outside i do anywhere. If its someone elses car, building or there property i do ask they wish. If its public property, it depends on where. I live in the south so few care, Use common sense and common courtesy. Also i tend to avoid tobacco flavors in public. Starting to avoid them anyway because i like other flavs better.

I had a thought reading your post. I forgot how much people smoking does stink if you dont smoke. Everyday people are smoking outside my apartment which is fine and i never noticed how bad it smells when i smoked. Anyway, I have found open minded people would prefer u vap all the time vs smoke occasionally because it stinks cigs must stink to non-smokers. Some people wont like it no matter what and respect there wish'es. (my mom didnt so in her car, in her house ect so i didnt.)o

Use common sense and be courteous.

Well, this group of vapers should be better received.

Setting a good public image is quite important for this vaping community. .....

Right on eratik

I think vaping should be allowed where .... burping is allowed :)

my cherry vape does smell alot better than the other option... ;)

LOL, and then there's the .... burpin' faction....
heh heh, thread drift by post #11, we are so good here (-:

me too ............ if i am in place thats large, no ones around and i am having a nic fit ......... ill toot it once with and absorb most the fog before i exhale. my juices in public are fruits & weaker scents than most perfumes in smell. If someone complained i would apoligize & i wont again, but i would explain how harmless it us. Too be honest i vaped 3 months two years ago & started back now and no one has complained. In someone house or car i would usually go outside.... if a close friend i i might ask if it was ok with them.

I vape at my desk, in my car, and in my house. That being said, I don't vape around other people/customers while at work nor do I vape around my children. We were actually having this conversation at work the other day when a customer came in with an electronic cigarette. Ususally I dont say anything because I vape too, but this customer took a big lung hit and exhauled it within a foot or so of a mother and her 2 month old baby. While I dont think the mother or baby were harmed, but there is still "class" when vaping. It is going to be people like him that get vaping legally banned from all establishments

I, as well as others have mentioned, try to keep it in the same rule category as smoking.

I, however, do sometimes vape some when I may be in a store for a long period of time (grocery shopping or whatnot). I still take into consideration my surroundings, I don't want to cloud up a bunch of shoppers..

At work we are required to go to the smoke deck with the cig puffers to vape.. I feel it's fair.

For a while I worked in an office where those who vape, instead of smoking, we're allowed to do so at their desk while working as a "reward" for dropping the cigs. Us Vapers would set in a section together so we wouldn't bother others. There was always a cloud above us! Hahah
