Vaping has saved me!

I quit tobacco the day I got my pv (check out my siggy for the exact time), and THANK GOD (and I'm not saying thank God in a slang kind of way - I've actually prayed my thanks). If I were still a smoker I'd be fit to be tied by now.

I've been in the hospital since Tuesday, and it is a tobacco free campus. Not a nicotine free campus. If I had wanted, I could have gotten the patch to get my beloved nicotine, but the patch has never agreed with me so I didn't even ask. For the first time in my adult life I've been able to say "no!" when they asked if I use tobacco. Again - they don't ask if you smoke they ask if you use tobacco! Needless to say, while my doctors and nurses know that I vape, I haven't asked them if vaping is accepted/denied in hospital policy. They haven't asked, either, so I'm guessing it's a don't ask, don't tell kind of thing.

In short: thank God for vaping! And vape on, my friends! :vapor:

I feel the same way, CG. Every time someone at work asks me for a cigarette or a light and I say, "I'm sorry, I don't smoke cigarettes anymore", I just feel.....ecstatic and happy and proud that I can make that statement after trying so many times to kick my 35+ year analog habit. I still can't believe I'm now a non-smoker.

Congrats to you; I know just how you feel.

My father has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now and it also is a no smoking campus. They dont even have anywhere on the grounds outside. I have been spending a lot of time there and vape in his room. He even takes a toot once in a while. The nurses always ask what it is, but no one as ever asked me to stop. So I keep doing it.

I'm being released today, with the diagnosis of "we don't know what the heck is wrong with you." Bah.

I'm still happy about being a non-smoker on forms, AND I've educated a bunch of nurses about vaping! They've ALL said that they're going to tell their smoking patients that it is a good way to quit - they ALL agreed with me that the patch/gum/lozenge/prescriptions don't work.

I feel like instead of being an activist, I'm a vap-a-vist! :D
