I think is a conspiracy theory. Somebody just dun wan ppl to realise that vaping is NOT illegal!!!!

I think it is still very much a grey area. Like vehicle modding and chewing gums( best thing brought up by Circuitsucka). Vehicle modding is illegal. But it doesn't stop some enthusiast from doing so, right? Chewing gums are illegal, but you still see kids chewing on the streets, right? I think it's just that sometimes, Gahmen dun want to be too strict with vaping as well. My stand is Gahmen knows full well what it's like to be TOO STRICT. So they put the rules as such. They know that grip too tight, we complain. Grip too loose, all the kids also start vaping. So my best guess is: They see no adverse effects, and is a viable solution to quit tabacco smoking (which is detrimental to our health), for those of us who knows of it, they relax.

Now. Imagine this grey area being abuse as such by drug abusers, and loaded kids who just want some *fun*... Or your kids?

Or this scenario: Your kids mixed around with a loaded kid who likes excitement and knows and uses a PV for the sole purpose of abusing drugs? Not very pleasant too, right? Talk (or type) so much, just my 0.02 cents nia...

The below ban is valid from mid this year, but think about W.H.O have changed the name to E.N.D.S. (Electronic Nicotine Delivery System). The law have not ban this yet. Stop using e-cigarette name than you will not be banned. The laws is all about BLACK & WHITE.

In Singapore, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are currently prohibited under Secion 16 (1) of the.Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act, which is enforced by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). This legislation prohibits the importation, distribution, sale or offer for sale of any confectionery or.other food product or any toy or other article that is designed to resemble a tobacco product or the packaging of which is designed to resemble the packaging commonly associated with tobacco products. HSA takes a serious view on any person who contravenes the law. Those guilty of the offence are liable to a fine of up to $5, 000 upon conviction

personally i think that smoking in non smoking places is not such a great idea. too in-your-face. all the explaining to do is just not worth the trouble.

plus it prolly gives smokers in general a bad name.

Yes. You are right. Discretion is the key word. Vaping in non-smoking areas is just asking for trouble. The idea is not to have an alternative, so as to challenge the authorities, but an alternative to smoking. Some ppl just like to challenge the the authorities (read: securities), and when ppl start asking, then they start to challenge: "Where got smoke? vapour what.." or "I never smoke... I vape only."

Discretion please. Everyone. Discretion.

same question has been ask around by vapers in singapore.. well basically, to make it short, e-cig make the goverment income lower.. u obviously know that tax for analog is high in singapore right..? what about e-cig..? they also have tax but, can u compare the difference..? yes.. its very obvious..

well, probably there are other hidden reason which yet to be discovered by any of us.. who knows..? what we know only government put their income 1st then the health of the people.. anyone disagre..?

Am new here but correct me if I'm wrong. E govt taxes tobacco, not nicotine, so govt won't gain anything from e-cigs except e "dismal" 7% gst. So, it doesn't make good economic sense for our govt to bother. They don't reali bother abt our health anyways...

actually i do think that there are plenty of legitimate concerns with regards to making vaping legal, not only the tax (even though it MIGHT be a concern). more likely that they do not know what e risks are as of yet, and wldt want to be caught legitimizing something that might be diff to remove in future. also the chance of the nic to be abused (snorting a line of 56 mg durian flavoured juice anyone?), to be left lying ard for unsuspecting, clueless ppl to get poisoned, or for inconsiderate ppl to just pour it down the reserviors or something, etc etc. with juices coming in with nic, i think that it will really be a nightmare to legalize it and then regulate it.

i have been thinking on what the most likely scenario will be and it all boils down to controlled nic and chemical content in juices, stored in a tamper proof carto dat can be disposed of safely. or cartos to be handed over the counter for a return of deposit or something with a microchip inside for the anne ee ay officers to verify if it is sdpc (sin-ga-pur duty paid carto).

its the only way in my honest pipty sen opinion :p
