A hotel without an indoor pool is called "camping".[emoji16]

The last motel I stayed at was pretty cool. All the rooms were non smoking, but outside each room on the covered porch area, was a table and two chairs for sitting comfortably, and an ashtray on each table for those who smoked. It was quite like sitting on your front porch at home, very nice.

I vaped outside there next to my husband who smoked. Never vaped in the room..

I think more hotels should be set up like that one, with a convenient and comfortable place for people to smoke or vape..

Those hotels are actually rare. I used to travel a lot in the airline industry and their were only a few like that one. Agreed, I like that balcony area, feels more relaxing.

Last hotel I was in was no smoking on the entire property and laying in bed vaping I blew a big could upwards and saw a smoke detector through the cloud~! After some quick fanning the air and some choice words luckily it did not go off like the girls in the Bridal/Bachelorette Part did and the fire Department came to inspect the premises. Vaping normally with my Nautilus Minis did not set it off but was careful to not fog out the room.

I work on a yacht and we have both types of detectors in each area. I can set off both of them if I blow the vapor right at them. So, I am careful and blow it toward the floor and they do not usually go off unless I am chain vaping.

All of my smoke detectors just went off! On top of that they are "linked" so you have to narrow down the "suspect". My ears are still numb from finding out which 1 out of 6 it was.

I have to be careful not to vape near the smoke detectors in the house. Like yours, they're linked, and they set off a common siren in the house, which whips the dogs into a frenzy (it's a lot of fun running to one of the keypads with 150# of excited beast in your way).
The bad (or good) thing is, even if I cancel the alarm, the monitoring company calls my cell phone, and if the call goes to voicemail, the next call is to emergency services... yay...

(So far I've not had the fire department dispatched to the house...)

But as to the hotel room thing, yeah, you have to be careful. I know there are some hotels that charge VERY steep fees if emergency services have to be dispatched for a false call. Steep as in the thousands of dollars.

2 of my detectors went bad so I just replaced them, no problems since, as long as California doesn't send me a anymore wildfire smoke.

Don't let them know you're getting any, they might send a bill!
