So did the girls say both , that vaping is good for your health and bad for the environment? Or just about the environment and you think it's good for your health?

The title of the thread is the exact comment that one of the girls made: "Vaping is good for your health, but bad for the environment!"

The way it was said made it sound as if they were repeating a slogan or something.

Schools are freaked out by teens vaping, so they are "educating" teens to not vape and why they shouldn't. Not unlike sex education, as if sex ed ever kept kids from having sex. So just maybe those two teens had just heard a lecture about the dangers of vaping?

Air Sampling confirms secondhand vapor is harmless

I suppose that's possible. We keep reading articles about Juul and kids, so it's possible that schools are attempting to "educate" (misinform) children.

I would have told them without nicotine the environment around me becomes unsafe.

It makes you wonder what generation raised this generation, eh? It's funny, but I never hear anyone mention that when complaining about the children of today. ScottP, I am not calling you out or anything--just speaking in general terms about something I notice on a whole. There seems to be a consensual opinion that kids today are screwed up, but never what made them so.
    1. We allowed education to be turned over to the government, instead of parents and teachers.
    2. We allowed corporal punishment to be removed from schools. When I was in grades 1-12, if you got in trouble in school, you were more worried about what was going to happen when you got home. Because back then, parents overwhelmingly put a fine accent on the punishment metted out by the teacher or principal.
    3. What happened to expelling those who are disrupting? As I recall, 7th hours were doled out for small time disruption, but if you were out of control, your little .... was kicked out.
    4. Go back and read number 1 again.

I'd agree with much of what you state, but I witness kids barely under control while in the presence of their parents too; the push against spankings at home started with all those "time out" parents in the early 90's. And, a lot of parents today let video games take the place of quality time with their kids. The children love it which is why it needs to be curtailed.

When kids act out it's a cry for attention - believe it or not they DON'T like not having rules and boundaries or attention from parents... those rules say I love you more than anything else ever will, and parental attention goes a LONG way..

A child gets lost in gaming because of loneliness.

I agree in part. It's not about what a child likes or doesn't like, they'd eat cereal 24/7 if given the choice. A healthy child is one with healthy boundaries and clear set rules of what's expected of them. As adults our own following of the law, rules of society, etc.. doesn't just come naturally. It comes from how rules and healthy boundaries were instilled into us by our own parents. It's unfortunate, but a lot of kids simply don't have this basic need. I am of the opinion that a child gets lost in gaming because their parents allow them to. If my youngest had a choice, she'd take gaming over going to Disney World, or even playing outside with the kids next door.

You are right that kids don't have the capacity to know how to choose what's best for them like what foods are healthy etc..

My wife’s son has 5 kids. Basically the 4&6 year olds run the show, because mommy and daddy want to be friends to them, rather than parents. I’ve told them it isn’t going to work and there will be hell to pay down the road. It all falls on deaf ears.

My grandchildren are doing really well, thank goodness..

My stepson found a lovely wife, and she stays home with the kids and they are very well behaved. My daughters children are being raised by their father, but he does good by them and they are well behaved and well cared for..

I have to say I couldn't be happier with how they are all doing as parents.. so at least the anti discipline attitude isn't all pervasive among the millennials who are now parents..

Somewhere along the line, parents apparently stopped disciplining children. Children don't seem to respect their parents, or anyone else for that matter.

If I was to hazard a guess -
Vaping stops people from smoking, smoking kills people (a lot of people).
Over population is killing the planet, so less dead people is a bad thing.

@bombastinator love that card, I've taken to carrying the following around as it is less specific and better for general use.
