So wife came home today and told me they had yet another kid discharge a fire extinguisher in the school, this time in the gym. It doesn't help that teachers are so fed up many aren't even showing up for work now (two officially quit and walked out) and they can't get enough subs to fill all the slots. So they are having to dump a lot in the gym for non-test subject classes and split/merge classes for tested subjects. It's utter chaos up there.

I got a lecture from a 5 year old GGD this evening. I took her to the park down the road and there were some people smoking there. She told me I needed to move to a new house because people smoke around here and mummy doesn't like her being around smoke. She also mentioned the spider webs in the corner behind the door as another reason I needed to get a new house.

We need a "too cute" emoji.

a few months ago someone at work (the primary office toxin and chain smoker) complained about me vaping in my cube. I'm pretty sure she's also on speed. Boss said I had to quit. (In the upstairs office or around ms poopy pants):sneaky:

Now some other yahoos want to ban vaping in all public spaces. i understand govt buildings/parks but private and public businesses should do what they want. They're also going after open areas like sidewalks and parking lots...in a really small town where people still smoke freely in any outdoor space. Others burn leaves and other smelly debris. But those damn vapors :(

Social Justice and saving the planet are just the mask behind which the unbalanced and mentally disturbed are given a social acceptable license to inflict their disease onto the rest of the population...people who in a more civilized age would have either been booted out of society or simpely ignored.

I've heard that vaping is a scary, horrific "gateway drug" to smoking (strange how they don't say vaping is as bad as cigs anymore, almost as if its been proven that vaping is safer than smoking, total shocker ), but I've never heard it was bad for the environment. How? How is it bad for the environment? That is, unless its just more anti-vape propaganda to scare folks with completely made up crap, as usual.

The great thing about vaping propoganda is that it is making people who vape start to think about....what else do the talking heads on the TV tell us ....is actually propoganda....if they lie about something that could save a billion lives..how many other lives have they and are they willing to sacrifice....

It makes you wonder what generation raised this generation, eh? It's funny, but I never hear anyone mention that when complaining about the children of today. ScottP, I am not calling you out or anything--just speaking in general terms about something I notice on a whole. There seems to be a consensual opinion that kids today are screwed up, but never what made them so.
“It’s those damn cartoons!”...ohwait.. that was my generation...nvm...

(It was true though. Buggs Bunny is still my favorite philosopher)

I struggle to see what was so offensive about what was said. She made a comment that's pretty much true. Was it her daring to invade your safe space that was so upsetting? I don't see how disciplining kids, or school environment, or anything else was negatively illustrated by her comment. Perhaps she was saying it to her friend, and not to you. I see that a lot of people here have pretty negative impressions of kids....well, to a lot of us, 40 year olds are kids.

It's not that it was offensive, it's that it was WRONG. Vaping isn't bad for the environment. It has been proven that second hand vape contains zero toxins, not even nicotine. The only environmental impact is the trash from the boxes, old coils, etc. but that is no different than any other product. "Pretty much true"? Not even close.

God forbid an adult decide to vape instead of smoking. Smoking is seen as such a bad thing but compare it to vaping and some people would take smoking over it anyday of the week. Everyone knows vaping claims the lives of thousands everyday and directly leads to lung cancer. I know that because the puppets (both figurative AND literal) told me so on an anti-vape commercial.</sarcasm>

What is bad for the environment are all those disposible pods like Juuls that are tossed out like butts. Cigarette butts will decompose. Pods are plastic and can't. Whether Juul/cigalikes prefilled pods whatever, they are wasteful. Now there's even that plastic disposable tank, forgot who makes it. That stuff is environmentally unfriendly. Which is why using a simple rebuildable or at least a refillable something is way better than those plastic one use pods getting tossed out. That's about the only negative environmental issue I see with vaping and it's only those things.

People are working hard to curb teen “juuling” and they’re not so concerned what the fallout is outside of that problem. They do have a point. The weird bit is there are obvious simple and effective solutions, but they’re all bad very specifically for juul, so the real issue isn’t about saving kids, it’s saving juul

And getting parents to do their job as parents. That should include not only stuff like Juul use, but even stuff like don't throw your trash wherever you want. Put it in a damn trashcan, not the sidewalk.

Employer rules can be a pain.

MTL vaping in public probably wouldn't be a problem for most. I can understand how 10 foot long thick clouds in a mall or office would be objectionable. People don't understand vaping and think that what we exhale is going to be detrimental to their health.

MTL in a stealthy style has only gotten me one reprimand in 9 years. That was in a Texas Roadhouse in the local mall. The manager walked up and told me in a quiet tone that they had implemented a nation wide policy that prohibited vaping, even in the bar section.

I started vaping after I retired. I was used to having to go outside to smoke. I spent a lot of time in computer rooms maintaining my company's equipment. No smoking there.
