For the OP - I'm glad that worked for you. From your post I get that you don't vape now?
I don't think there is a prescription that will fit everyone. I smoked 40-50 a day. No way I would stop vaping after 4 months. I am at 12 mg now with some 6mg and 0 mg as well. 8 months off cigarettes, and I'm not rushing to quit vaping. I smoked for over 30 years. I've only been vaping 8 months by comparison.

If your goal is to have an end date to vaping then you can plan it out. I think I'll just know when that time comes. I decreased my nic naturally as time went on - I realised I could probably handle lower nic so I would try some.
One mistake I've seen some new people make is rushing the quit vaping idea - or not wanting to buy the vaping supplies they need now because they think vaping is going to be short-term. Unfortunately some of those people end up dissatisfied with vaping and take up smoking again.

So vape what you need to, when you need to, for as long as you need to.

To the OP, I don't know how long you had originally smoked or how much. I have smoked for 27 years, the last 10 of which I was up to almost 3 packs a day. Yes I do vape too much, but it sure beats the hell out of smoking. When I have tried to cut down my nic levels before I was ready it didn't go well and so they are right back up to the 10-12 they have been for a couple of months now.

Don't get me wrong I am glad your way worked for you, but please remember posting something like that where a new comer will read it and maybe having been vaping 2 or 3 months and they can't get to where you where, they shouldn't feel like they failed. I am sure you don't intend to make anyone feel that way, but it is human nature that we compare what we do to what others before us did.

And this is a pet peeve of mine, but we don't smoke a vape, we vape it!

Have you tried boiling your used cartomizer's and reusing them yet?

Oh yeah I've done all kinds of shameful things :D Most of that I blame on my husband. He was not supportive in the beginning. So I had to make what I had work. I mostly use 100% VG juice it would be a major pain with the store bought cheapos. Boiling would get rid of clogs but not the flavors. Kept me from smoking though, and now I have an Inferno which I love.

To add to this, I have noticed a lot of people who believe initially (like I did) that using a higher nicotine level would result in less frequent vaping. I found this not to be true for me in practice.

I started with 18mg, which I immediately realized was not high enough, so I ordered 24mg. By the time it arrived, I had already acclimated to the 18mg, but I thought going to 24 would mean less vaping. Instead, I found that I wanted to vape just as frequently, but I would tend to get too much nicotine when I wasn't careful, particularly at night.

On my next order, I stepped down to 18mg, and got a free bottle of 12mg thrown in. I had no trouble with the 18mg (unlike my first order), and have taken to using 12mg at night. On my next order, I plan to step down again for both my all-day vape and nighttime vape.

I don't know if I'll eventually step too low and have to bump back up or if this trend will lead to 0 nicotine. In either case, I'll take it as a positive trend and go where it takes me.

I find that using 510 atomizers when I was a new vaper I would use a 510 manual battery pen style and hold the button down so long that the battery would die within less then 2 hours and my atomizer would have be burnt and thrown out. I switched to ce2 cartomizers with a 2ml max fill and I couldn't be happier. Also not having a spare battery when I was a new vaper really turned me off vaping.

rule #1 --- have backups for your backups for your backups for everything from batteries to adapters to juice

rule #2 --- do not even bother trying to find a juice that tastes like your cig -- just ain't happening

rule #3 --- your body knows better than a schedule when and if you are ready to reduce or need to raise your nicotine -- listen to it

and most important sit back - relax - enjoy the vape :vapor:

I used a battery straight from the box without charging it- got too excited. Then it wouldn't charge anymore. Never again.

One other thing - before I started- and saw someone else vaping, I thought that the liquid was like gross residue or that it meant they hadn't cleaned it in a while. I was grossed out until I learned the error of my ways.

Read a lot on ecf about the best this or that first. Try to buy a months worth of stuff and do the different flavors thing. Start out with 50/50 pg-VG and adjust from there. ( like I do 70/30 pg- then VG)
Some bottles say shake well and some don't. Mine didn't and the nic separates....don't know if it stays on bottom or floats to top but shake shake shake befor taking the cap off to load. Now, since I vape a lot I catch my self shaking my pills before taking the cap off. Ha ha

I just joined ECF after starting to vape yesterday and had to laugh when I read your post. I've gone through two 1.6ml Stardusts in about 24 hrs. I've found that I enjoy vaping a lot more than I expected I would. I stopped smoking analogs as of 24 hrs ago and so far am not missing them much at all. In fact, I am so excited I stopped smoking I have hardly slept in 24 hrs, only 3-4 hrs sleep so far. I feel so full of energy I also chased my wife around the house a couple of times (wink, wink). I am 62 years old and the cigarette was literally killing me. I think you're right. At first, just vape away. You will settle into a comfortable rhythm soon enough.
