in public:
in view of other people; when others are present
in view of other people; when others are present
When I smoked I never lit up or asked if it was OK to smoke in someones house. Mainly because I never smoked in my own house. I would simply excuse myself and do what I had to do outside. I also never smoked in public where it was prohibited, but felt free to smoke in designated areas or far enough away from people where it wasn't going to bother someone.
As a vaper I'm just going to follow the same thing now except for not vaping in my own house.![]()
As a smoker, I was always extremely courteous, not smoking around others and/or asking random people in the vicinity if my smoke would bother them. If they said yes, I did not smoke.
I am very new to vaping and so far, I have a completely different mindset. I can think of nothing I feel more adamantly about at the moment, except maybe politics.
At least for the time being, I have no intention of requesting permission to vape anywhere I choose. Why? IT'S NOT SMOKE AND I AM NOT SMOKING! There is no smell. I view it like having to ask to breathe and I'm not going to do it.
I read another thread that appeared to be started by someone who was not a vaper, where the majority if not everyone was all about asking permission. I would have posted this there, but the thread was closed.
Curious how other vapers feel. Thanks.
The more we antagonize the more likely the misinformed are to pass laws or put up signs.
Seriously, what is "in your face vaping"?
I don't know how that would even be possible unless you got right up in someone's face and blew the vapor. I mean, come on, who's going to do that? Additionally, I barely get enough vapor for it to even be seen by anyone. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
I personally have never seen a no vaping sign anywhere. Perhaps vaping is just not that common in Texas. No one has said a word or looked askance at me yet.
As for the smell, I was at my parents house with my nephews (they are all very sensitive to smoke) and no one could smell anything. Perhaps it's because I use only 0mg or 6mg nicotine.
Why do these discussions always come down to the extremes?
to me "in your face vaping" is the "i do what i want, when i want, where i want" with no thought or consideration to the consequences....just like getting in someone's face is usually with no thought beyond the immediate moment....Seriously, what is "in your face vaping"?

I'm like most others on here...I only Vape where I would have smoked. Because, YES! Your Vape does smell! Not like a real Cig, but it does still smell. A lot of people are sensitive to strong smells..and I know several of my juices are strong smelling. I can be nearly 10 feet from my husband, and he'll take a drag of off some of his juices, and I don't even have to look at which tank he's using, I can smell it! Usually the fruity ones, to me, smell the strongest.....................
I treat vaping like real analog cigarettes. Distance myself from others and try and be as stealthy as possible.
Few of my fellow managers made a joke about it looking like a crack pipe(clearomizer). Educated all my employees about what I was using now. Just incase some customer comes through complaining about a crack pipe.
Not looking for attention and not trying to educate anyone on vaping besides close friends and family.
