How long have they been mixed for? I've mixed a few things with various results. Some get better as they steep, but I've had others completely loose their flavor after just a few days :( Just gotta get the right mixes I guess - I'd say I'm about par for the course :p

I had seen some feedback on the Butter Rum. I think one person didn't care for it, but others thought it was great. Cyrus Vap reviewed that one in this thread here.

For a few weeks now I believe.Seems to me the ones I've mixed gets a creamy taste to them the longer they steep.I don't believe I've had one yet to lose flavor due to steeping. If they seem to lose flavor, try vaping just nic and which ever you one you use PG/VG mix with the nic base for an hour or so.Then go back to that flavor and try it again. It may be just your taste buds and that is what I do when I've had flavors that seem dull.Just a PG/VG nic base brings my taste buds back to life for some reason.

Lovin' me some VZ DIY, still new to this and I am CONFUSED... Some of my juices (French Pipe is one) seem to loose flavor after a week or so.
Am I not mixing enough drops? 2.5% = 5 drops in 10 mls. What do YOU do?
I add 12 drops per 10 ml, on the French Pipe, if from the VZ bottle. That's what I came up with. I counted 47 drops = 1ml

Dont vape that flavor for a day or two then go back to it. I know some of my flavors if I vape them
for a long time they seem to loose the flavor to them, then I wont vape that flavor for a day and go back to it
and it's good again.

They don't lose flavor for me but change over time and continue to do so for awhile. The french pipe loses it's sweet somewhat and whatever "tobacco" notes are there come out. I've found it to be at it's peak after 2 weeks.

The VFC is a little less complex a flavor but it too starts off really sweet and hits it's stride for me after 2 weeks. So far, it seems to be holding strong after a month and hasn't appeared to change much after week three so I may make a big batch of this one for blending.

I do build a tolerance, so to speak, for the FP fairly quickly so I have to switch up a lot but that's me. I tend to acclimate to smells quickly and seeing as most of what we vape is identified through our sense of smell, I have to spend a day or two out of the week vaping unflavored to reset my palate.

Thanks!
Math was never my strong suit! Brought all my mixes up to equal 12 drops and WHAMO! Much better! Even without steeping.
Now I'll let them rest a few days and see what happens. How long do you let them steep?
The French Pipe didn't change much for me in taste from steeping. However it lost some of its punch. I added more drops to it. I think I ended up at 3%.

If you manage two weeks, you'll get the most from your patience at that point. Some improve beyond then, but it's probably the tobacco sweet spot for these. Mix up another batch and put that one away while you enjoy this round.

Related to steeping, I had a question for you Cyrus Vap: how do you normally determine your personal optimal % level? I think most of us know you do a lot of mixes at all sorts of %'s but I don't recall ever coming across the method to your madness.

Do you, e.g. mix 5 bottles at various ranges and let them sit for the same time and test/compare? Or do you mix, wait, test, add, wait, test, etc?

Have you ever found yourself caught off-guard by a particular method when revisiting a juice after extended steeping by it's strength, or does it just change in regards to the actual flavor and not the amount of it?

Vaped On: .357 1.5 ohm 901 + Provari 3.3-4.2 volts

Steep Time: vaped from start through a few weeks

Color: light brown

Aroma: chocolate, banana, hay, tobacco absolute

mouthfeel/texture: creamy

flavor: This tastes to me like a straight forward blend of something in the choco/creamo/banana/malty family, most likely dunhill, and our good old friend, Tobacco Absolute. I was surprised to find TA hanging out in this bottle, but I'm relatively certain I taste it. And despite the fact that I kind of burnt out on TA a few months back, I still have a soft spot for it, and this blend actually works very nicely. If you like dunhill, and like TA, this one is for you, no question.

standalone potential: 8/10

overall rating: 7/10

Can anyone please review VZ DIY Strawberry? Seven Star? Thanks!

I have the Seven Star. It is a mild flavored tobacco. A bit too mild for my preferences. I don't get any fruit, chocolate, nutty flavor, etc in it. Just tobacco. Right now this is the base flavor I am using to add other flavors trying to jazz it up a bit.

Hope this helps.

So sorry I missed this post Wolcen, that was obnoxious of me !

Basically, both methods (though I usually go with 3 bottles, not 5). Since I started dripping more I'm tending towards the mix, drip, vape, add more, drip, vape, etc method though.

Sometimes I add and play in the beginning, sometimes as I go over the course of weeks.

With the super concentrated flavors I've found steeping doesn't usually result in drastic increases in flavor, usually just a subtle toning down of sweeter smells and toning up of subtle notes. I think this is in part because of
How nicely they can diffuse through the solution with their PGA base, and the warming, violent shaking, etc that I subject them to

As an example there are many flavors that come across as being another version of the banana chocolate family, then after about a day those notes recess and other ones come out (e.g cubana, mild seven). real cig
So far has had the most drastic changes that seem to occur after a few weeks.

And sometimes I just go for it! Inspiration and guessing make a nice vacation from systematic
Insanity. I def wouldn't call anything optimal about my mixes! And after vaping
Loads of unflavored as of late, my buds have become much more sensitive. A recent mix
Of blackberry menthol at 1% was a bit overwhelming lol

EDIT: What I NEVER do is mix, and wait more than 24 hours. Sometimes I only wait until the liquid recovers from the heat and shaking marathon and then go at it right away. I don't think there is anything wrong with mixing and waiting for 1-2 weeks before tasting, in fact its probably 'right,' but its not really for me, and I've not found it to make a huge difference or throw me any curve balls at all. By the 24 hr mark I feel like I pretty much know what I've got. Like I said, I think heating, shaking, heating, shaking, and the fact that these are alcohol based makes for a fast trip to equilibrium and mending.

I find subjective burn out (chain vaping/ over vaping a flavor) to influence things more than steeping for me. The early a.m. vape is so damn flavorful ;)

Cool beans! Thanks! Sometimes that's all I want just tobacco, so maybe I'll give this a shot!
