So sorry I missed this post Wolcen, that was obnoxious of me !
Basically, both methods (though I usually go with 3 bottles, not 5). Since I started dripping more I'm tending towards the mix, drip, vape, add more, drip, vape, etc method though.
Sometimes I add and play in the beginning, sometimes as I go over the course of weeks.
With the super concentrated flavors I've found steeping doesn't usually result in drastic increases in flavor, usually just a subtle toning down of sweeter smells and toning up of subtle notes. I think this is in part because of
How nicely they can diffuse through the solution with their PGA base, and the warming, violent shaking, etc that I subject them to
As an example there are many flavors that come across as being another version of the banana chocolate family, then after about a day those notes recess and other ones come out (e.g cubana, mild seven). real cig
So far has had the most drastic changes that seem to occur after a few weeks.
And sometimes I just go for it! Inspiration and guessing make a nice vacation from systematic
Insanity. I def wouldn't call anything optimal about my mixes! And after vaping
Loads of unflavored as of late, my buds have become much more sensitive. A recent mix
Of blackberry menthol at 1% was a bit overwhelming lol
EDIT: What I NEVER do is mix, and wait more than 24 hours. Sometimes I only wait until the liquid recovers from the heat and shaking marathon and then go at it right away. I don't think there is anything wrong with mixing and waiting for 1-2 weeks before tasting, in fact its probably 'right,' but its not really for me, and I've not found it to make a huge difference or throw me any curve balls at all. By the 24 hr mark I feel like I pretty much know what I've got. Like I said, I think heating, shaking, heating, shaking, and the fact that these are alcohol based makes for a fast trip to equilibrium and mending.
I find subjective burn out (chain vaping/ over vaping a flavor) to influence things more than steeping for me. The early a.m. vape is so damn flavorful
Related to steeping, I had a question for you Cyrus Vap: how do you normally determine your personal optimal % level? I think most of us know you do a lot of mixes at all sorts of %'s but I don't recall ever coming across the method to your madness.
Do you, e.g. mix 5 bottles at various ranges and let them sit for the same time and test/compare? Or do you mix, wait, test, add, wait, test, etc?
Have you ever found yourself caught off-guard by a particular method when revisiting a juice after extended steeping by it's strength, or does it just change in regards to the actual flavor and not the amount of it?
