Well it does have an adjustable 510 pin, turn it out to where it's for sure contacting the atty and then some maybe and condemn it if it still doesn't work.It won't work with any of my attys so I'm guessing the piece of garbage is dead already.

Craig,
Are you sure it is adjustable. A lot of these 510 connectors lately have a slot that looks like an adjustment but if you read the fine print they warn you not to twist it.
I don't know on these clones if what I am say applies - I'm just saying be sure before taking a screw driver to it. ????
Its not spring loaded. Its an adjustable pin.
I even tried resetting it by removing the batteries and putting them back in.
I tried it with 5 attys.
Its supposed to have an adjustable pin.
I don't have any ni200 due to a nickel allergy. I have titanium and kanthal.
Its 28g ti.
I'm going to check it for metal shavings as well.
I think Craig's pic shows its an adjustable pin.
Yes I agree that Craig's Pic shows removeable and I assume you and Craig have the same model Modes?
Well, mine is a Kangxin, and that 510 he's showing I'm pretty sure only came on the Kangxin Flasks.
If it comes to it, I can replace either or both the 510 and chip, but its a bummer it croaked so quickly.
I'm eating now, but I'm going to clean the 510 and check it again.
One oddity also is that pin isn't reverse threaded.
Glad you found the trouble nothing worse than a new toy that doesn't work.
By the way you may want to save this number 28 Ga Ti is 1.7688 ohms per foot.

I only paid $39 for it, but it is annoying when your new toy acts up that quicklyI was warned about the 510, but still wanted it to work at least a few days so I have time to order a new one.
As for the chip, glad its ok. Down the road, if I like the mod, I may replace it, but I haven't had good luck with the Evolv chips either.
I'm not a big tc user yet anyway, but even if I only use it for kanthal, its nice to have another dual battery mod.
