So a question for the knowledgeable. I'm looking at the version with the USB charging and adjustable pin. Have these units been working with kanthal as well as the ni200. Would like to know, before I order one, so it would be easy to switch back and forth between toppers with different builds. Thank you for any responses.

The USB port is way off, the bottom of the Kangxin port is about as high as the charge indicator light above the USB port on an authentic.

If you order one from J-Wraps, just ask for it without the USB cut-out. You can always trim a little rectangle out if you actually use the port and its 10-12 hour charge time.
Is that 10-12 hours from personal experience or from what you've heard?

Biggins,

I am sure that is real not from experience but I have read it several places. Remember the Flask is packing two 18650s and the charging port is good for a 0.5 Amp charge current. 0.5 divided by 2 = 250 miliamps of charge current per battery.

Yikes! Almost wish I'd have gotten one with out the charge port now...

Is it USB pass through equipped?

Right behind you...

Needs to have an adjustable or floating 510 pin. Nobody knows about the chip. Nobody knows how it looks inside. The enclosure looks good, almost as good as the SKX v2.

Somebody needs to send a reviewer one before I'd recommend it over the Kangxin flask, and even then, I'd say not to buy it until it comes with an adjustable 510 pin.

sounds like it's in customs @ your country right now sometimes it takes long for items to process trough there. afaik there is a problem in chicago where people are waiting 1 month + for their items to process, same thing could be happening at your place. everything you can do is wait and maybe contact 3fvape and/or your customs office about the matter but i actually doubt that 3f can do anything about your customs office :/ .

it does not line up with the jwrap at all its about two cm above the og vapor flask but i just covered them both im never going to use it anyway takes to long to charge of there plus i have a ton of batterys to swap them out

Yeah, I'm not touching another vaporflask clone without spring loaded/floating 510

I want to buy a Vapor Flask clone, but I am like you .... I am not buying one until a clone is available with a good quality spring loaded 510 connector.

Oh, and how about a nice (quality) brushed aluminum finish like the original Vapor Flask?

Can't be too much to ask for .... can it?

I doubt it's lost. You got it shipped just before CNY peak, and some of us that shipped out of 3FVape a couple weeks ahead of you are just now receiving them, and that's taking into account that US Customs is usually faster than CBSA at clearing packages in my experience (I lived in Canada for years).

Also remember it has to clear Chinese customs before going on to Canada, so chances are it may have sat in China until the end of last week thanks to the holiday.

I wouldn't start to get worried (it's okay to be anxious, just not worried) until late next week. Right now, you're still in that 3-4 week window that must of us got ours in.

A 2500mah battery charged at 500mah will take about 6 hours. Mathematically it should be 5 but near the end, as you are reaching the target voltage (4.2V), the charger will be reducing the charge rate more and more until it's 0 so in practice, the last 200 mah or so will take much more to be put into the battery. Obviously, not many of us will be always charging a dead flat battery so assuming a 5h charge on average is accurate enough. In case of the vapor flask that would mean a 10h charge (2 x 2 500mah).

Now if you think you can charge at 2 amps 2 batteries simultaneously in an efest luc 4 in under 90 minutes, it's a no brainer... :)

Well, it's hard to get a brushed finish with these, since I suspect they're cast aluminum, not CNC milled-from-a-single-block aircraft grade aluminum like the authentic. There's a reason they're so much less expensive, and it's not the lack of an Evolv board. :)

But in reality, I actually far prefer this coating over the authentic finish, it has a better hand feel and grip, and aesthetically, at least in black, it still looks great. The sparkly silver K-Flask, not so much.

It's anodized.

And like I said, getting a brushed finish out of cast aluminum is very problematic. Vapor Flask uses machined billet. Chinese clones use molten aluminum poured into molds.

-› Billet; A "billet" of aluminum is a block of solid aluminum that is forged at the foundry. The foundry takes pure, raw aluminum and combines it with other metals and/or minerals to form different alloys and grades of aluminum (we will be talking about 7075 T6 and 6061 T6). Once the materials are combined, smelted, and all impurities removed...billets are formed by placing the molten aluminum in a form under intense pressure. The high pressure removes all traces of air and gas, aligns and merges the molecules, resulting in a solid block of aluminum that is extremely dense. Basically, a huge, single molecule of aluminum!

-› Cast; A "cast" block (or part) of aluminum is very different. Scrap aluminum is melted and then poured into a mold. When it solidifies, you are left with a block of cast aluminum. Since it was simply poured into a mold and was not formed under pressure, it is very porous and filled with air bubbles and air pockets. It has a very rough texture and is not very consistent throughout the entire block (some areas are more or less dense that others).

-› Billet Aluminum Parts; Most manufacturers (the good ones) make their parts out of solid billet aluminum blocks. They get their blocks of billet aluminum directly from the foundry, who custom forge them into the sizes the manufacturer orders. The manufacturer places the billet blocks into their CNC machine and mills/machines them into the various parts using sophisticated design software (CAD, Solidworks, Solid-Modeling). Since the part is made from a solid billet block of aluminum, it is super strong.

-› Cast Aluminum Parts; Other manufacturers make their parts out of cast aluminum. There are two methods of making cast aluminum parts; Poured Mold & Block Milled/Machined, but both are structurally weaker because they are very porous (full of air bubbles and pockets) and have a very rough texture.
*--› Poured Mold Parts; The manufacturer buys scrap aluminum from many different places, and keeps it stock-piled at their facility. To make an aluminum part, they create a mold in the shape of the part to be made (usually a sand-mold, but sometimes a more permanent steel mold), then melt the scrap aluminum and pour it into the mold of the part. Once the part solidifies, it is sometimes milled/machined in a CNC machine to clean it up and create certain precision areas. Even though it has been milled/machined, it is still a cast part.

Now, in the case of a mod, the huge strength and durability advantages milled billet has over cast and poured doesn't really matter for anything other than aesthetics. These things aren't like car, bike, aircraft or weapon parts that need to withstand a lot of force, it's still just a glorified battery tube and space to hide electronics. Cast is just fine in this application, it's just harder to make look as pretty.
