I know its been said before but a good iron is essential, and I would suggest you practice first before attempting the DNA.
What's the temp control lidl iron like? I'm in the UK too.
Modding and vaping just burns money from experience and I avoid B&Ms like the plague sadly 90% are just crap, poor service and overpriced much the same as Maplin
I have nothing to compare the Lidl iron to, so I'd take Anson's word that it's ....e!
I've only attempted one soldering job recently, which was just joining a couple of wires and that seemed to go OK. The iron did take a long time to warm up, and I only had to do the one quick job so didn't even see if it cooled down again a lot.
Yes I plan to practice a lot! And I'm still hoping that it might not even need soldering - it might just be a case of tightening or replacing a screw, I've been told (though I'm not yet sure if the wire is soldered to the screw or just wrapped or whatever.)
I've been dealing with Gina and Kate myself, Gina is on the ball and Kate is getting better. I just sent them a picture of our problem and Kate got a new one shipped out to us in about 2 weeks. Our replacement is sitting in Chicago and should be here with in a week. I asked them if they wanted us to return this unit with the faulty button, Kate and Gina both replied keep it. I just hope people don't take advantage of there great customer service.

Happy for you! Just wish it didn't seem that I was the only person getting poor service from them!
Actually that's not true, dwcraig had the same experience.
I had far bigger problems than a faulty button, and I made a 20 minute video showing them in detail, but still got that response.
Of course, I may be being hasty in my condemnation - although the first proper email from them sucked, that is the only communication so far, they've not yet responded to my response. Maybe it'll all resolve itself in their follow-up! (I have no hope at all, of course - knowing how all the rest of this has gone thus far.)
It's getting towards the end of the day China time, so I'm guessing unless they respond in the next 10 minutes, I won't hear again from them today. Then of course it's the weekend, so probably that means waiting until Monday. Sigh.
Not sure I will be able to hold out until Monday, knowing there's a high chance they're just going to come back with the same crap. I'd quite possibly have taken the flask apart already if I had the right allen key.
Speaking of which, does anyone know the reference for the allen key I need to take the top off? I thought it was going to be the same size as the one I got with my Derringer RBA, but it's even smaller than that - I guess it's one of the smallest sizes available.
