ok! So probably a big static res for that one. My hotcig clone (that is bl00dy excellent and snagged on the basis of your recommendation I think) needs a higher temp than normal!!
Higher static res reduces the TCR and so the NP should be set to a lower value. I guess in @dwcraig1 ´s case it´s a question of taste.

Agree 100%
I have the previous version from FT before they pulled it and that doesnt have the logos. Its a bit hypocritical I guess but putting the logos on as well adfds insult to injury really. Not much we can do about it expecpt just not buy them....so off to 3avape to order one in a mo!! ;)

they are really good. Mine is excellent but has the resistance error. Not such a big deal really...

Agree also guys, I found it out when it was delivered. I have a VS DNA40 coming as well just to redeem myself a bit.
obviously no criticism intended. I have one too (sand logo) but seriously thing of springing for a second - logo or not!

Does the casing have the matte, VS-like finish or shiny (like mine)?

ps. I have a VS DNA40 also so penance is partially done!!

Not the latest rubbery finish, its the shiny paint.
Also a battery life update, 2 STM tankfulls at 26w, 210c, .08 and it's still at 40% on a VTC4.
Could you please check your new VF for a "low battery" message? The latest one I got (about 3 weeks ago) from Focal just decreases the wattage - no message.

I was into my rDNA yesterday because I thought maybe the 510 insulator was loose, it wasn't. I'm into it again right now getting ready to replace it with a FDV v3, looks easy enough. This ones not a clone but I don't care for it's weak spring 510.
I decided to wait a couple of days on this when I have to solder some other stuff. I need to use a Dremel a bit on it too and am out of computer duster to blow out my dust also, it can wait (lazy)

My VS sxk clone has the same 'feature'...
and "new old coil" too? I have a first series SXK VS 50, no "new old coil" message, but low battery. My second series SXK VF has "new old coil" but no low battery message. @smokewell seams to have the third generation FW, maybe they fixed this problem too.

You like me, also think the springs in the Vaporshark rdna and dna are super weak. I was thinking maybe taking off that super tiny C clip that holds the center pin inside the 510 off and taking the stock spring and stretching it or finding a stiffer replacement. I'd like to keep the stock look, however, I also have a FDV V3 Short laying around and that could save on the rubber finish from atty's being screwed and un-screwed. Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Stretching springs seldoms produces the results you want and long term never. :2c:

Yea that's a shiity fix I agree, just spit balling here. I'm also considering a fixed pin, somehow. Anything to help save that delicate Vaporshark finish. I don't mind gaps, in fact, I think small gaps(1-2mm) are good for the mod. Less heat sinking from atty to device. These weak springs coupled with an earlier evolv dna board(sans atty lock), make for unstable connection IMHO.

Done, why does everything always take longer than expected, always harder too.
