If they made it circular as opposed to square I'd be all over it. I don't know why regulated mods need to be square and have corners - we're holding them in our hands...

That's the main reason I never wanted a box mod. A good description btw. The Vapor Flask came out I knew it was the "box" mod that I would enjoy and I very much do. The new one with the DNA40 board is just icing on the cake.

I own a Segieli 20W and like it a lot. They are no longer in production and when they are gone that's it. The Segieli 30W is a piece of crap! A buddy of mine owns one that has been replaced twice and still has issues with the head. I may just pick up another 20W before they disappear.

That being said I didn't think I would like box mods but since picking up my REO's and IPV I can say that now they are preferred over tubes. Outside of the Hana most are real small and have a good feel in my hand. You can set them down damn near anywhere without them falling over and I think they pocket better.

It's personal preference. The fact that there isn't an DNA 40 or higher wattage tube available I believe speaks to the consumer preference right now. It's just a trend at them moment. The VF2 is incredibly small and solid, much more then I expected!

Not to worry, the plug is captured in the body, they'll wiggle slightly but can't be pulled out...mine did the same thing.

I just received my vapor flask and have a question. Is the mini usb port supposed to be able to move in and out when plugging the charger into it? I would have assumed it should be held still.

Figuring out the nickel build is pointless for me. I tested some kanthal temps on my Kayfuns as wasn't getting anywhere near 400 degrees on a saturated cotton wick. Think I may try and trade down to a v2 dna30 flask.

The temp control doesn't recognize Kanthal and the chip isn't set up to be used for measuring temp. The only way to get the temp control function to work and measure temp is to specifically use Ni200

Thanks everyone, it doesn't actually pull out, just gets slightly pushed back when I plug the charger in. If that's how everyone's is then I'm not worried. Now I'm just waiting on my batteries to get here so I can use this thing!
I'm just now unboxing mine, and it does the same thing. Small bummer I guess, you get this nice USB cable, then plug it in and it wobbles up, down, sideways, and every which way but loose. Attempting to unplug it pulls the entire female connector forward until it stops on something, then you can remove the cable. I'm still waiting on batteries for mine as well, and if this is the intended design I guess it will function fine. That said it doesn't exactly ooze feelings of quality...

Mine also has a very slightly misaligned top plate, similar to what Phil Busardo pointed out in his review. It overhangs very slightly on the fire button side.

Finally a question for the owners here. Both of the brass battery caps on mine are scratched up, one pretty heavily, right out of the box. And mine has a small scratch (Maybe 5mm long) through the anodizing on the bottom next to the left battery cover, directly left of the bottom engraving.

Obviously minor cosmetic issues are going to happen to any mod as it's used, which I totally get. But it kind of sucks to get what to me is a very expensive mod (I had to pay tax and shipping on mine, so I probably have the world's most expensive VF), only to feel a little like I got a used (Or "Demo") device right out of the box. I can't see any evidence of an atty having been mounted on the 510, but I've spent all of 10 minutes going over the device to this point.

I'm going to talk with the seller tomorrow and see what he says. I've been fascinated by this mod since I saw it, and the overall design of it is brilliant. I feel very lucky to be able to have it, but the little QC issues (Wherever and however they were caused) have definitely sucked some of the excitement out of this purchase for me.

Comments from owners on any cosmetic issues you noticed out of the box would be very helpful if anyone cares to share. Part of me is saying quit being picky, use the flask and enjoy it. The other is saying I just bought a hella pricey mod that I'm going to be using mostly at home and taking steps to keep nice, and it's OK to expect it to feel solid and look new as it's pulled from the package.

Cheers all!

All the same things that happened to pbursado's were a result of it being dropped. It sounds like yours might have had the same.

Bit worried as mine is ordered from France and will have been through two lots of shipping by the time I get it. Plus returning it will be a complete pain

I'm sad to hear of all the issues with the vapor flask. I've been thinking of getting a box mod and when the IPV3 150 watt and Sigelei 100 watt came out I thought to jump on one but am glad I waited after hearing of all the issues with them. Then the vapor flask came out with the latest and greatest DNA 40 chip and I thought, ok, this is the one. Now I hear of all the issues with this mod.
Does a box mod exist that is well made and performs the way it is supposed to?

So I reached out for them on Friday night at about 7:30 PM via e-mail. We've talked over the weekend and I received a tracking number for my replacement this morning. I think they are making a pretty strong statement about supporting the product. Yes it would have been great if the one I got first worked. I have to say that even with the problem I have confidence that I purchased for a rebuttal company that offers insane support.

I've also been reading here that Hana and Vapor Shark are also having some challenges. Everyone is trying to keep up with the demand and feeling the pressure.

From a product aspect the other two don't come close to the uniqueness of his mod. Not making excuses for anyone but this is a small business that is trying to ramp up to demand. I would be willing to bet that with the feedback Charlie is getting the QC process has already been modified. This has got to be impacting his margins and the consumer customer satisfaction.

If you are concerned, reach out for him and talk about they are answering e-mails promptly.

My Flask came in absolutely perfect condition. The battery covers were pristine, the entire mod looked brand new without a scratch or dent anywhere at all. The top plate was perfectly aligned and the screen wasn't leaning any which way. The only issue was the autofiring, which was enough for me to return the mod.

But I didn't, in the end. I emailed Vapor Flask directly and had an immediate response with the promise that they'll fix it up for me and ship it back immediately. They'll be getting it today so I hope that it will ship out today or tomorrow. Once it comes back I'll give my impressions on the real mod, the one that works as intended. I was impressed at the build quality, size, and ergonomics of the device but if, IMO, you can't screw down the atty completely without it autofiring it isn't worth keeping. Hoping that's totally fixed when I receive it.
