We need a poll to see how many who use nickel have it work perfect. Problem with forums sometimes is you only hear from those with issues not those who are not. I would like to know if There is hope and it was only a small batch of bad boards.

I have 3. 2 work great and one has a bad board that I'm getting ready to RMA.

That is great news. I don't mind waiting etc if when I get it back it will work. Nice to hear there are working units out there. Still think we should not have to pay for the shipping to get it to them. I had QC issues and board issues. Someone should pick up the $10 it cost me with $300 insurance on it.

I have no doubt that Evolv will resolve these issues, but they're not getting my money until I get a better feeling about it.

Isn't this silly: I was ready to pull the trigger on one of these, and now I feel like someone cancelled Christmas...indefinitely!

Simmer down we're early adopters... There will be set backs but they are taking care of it ...

Think of it this way tp may not be working correctly but I still would have bought a vapor flask dna 30 but now I have 40w with battery reverse protection and buck and boost!

@Kiwi Those are some very nice looking coils in post #513. If you dont mind me asking, how did the twisted contact coil compare to the regular spaced coil, vaping wise ? Is that 2 or 3 strands twisted ? 30g or 32g twisted ?

I've only had the VF for 36 hours, no luck yet getting a Nickel coil to vape good (never did spaced coils before yesterday) so my coiling skills are being severely tested w/Ni200, & i have to switch, for now, from an R91 to RDA's to get this figured out. And make bigger id coils. Only have 28g so far, got 30g & 32g on the way. And some 24g titanium too, which i may try w/tc set at half, as per what i read, but wont receive it for a while yet.

That is if my vf doesn't start acting all screwy, fingers crossed, haha. After reading all the problems people are having i'm thinking maybe to use the tc & Ni to learn more about how all the variables affect temp, then put that info to use on all my other Much less expensive mods/tanks.

Hahaja tbh my flask has been so wonky it's impossible to make a call on that. I'm gonna wait till I get my replacement before making any judgement calls

But personally I've had horrendous experience with contact coil so I'm sticking strictly to spaced coils

Pretty much the same for me as well. Tough to wick but they sure do seem to perform better for me than contact coils on the DNA40. This was my first foray into spaced coil land as well.

No, you're Evolv's R&D department that has to pay to test and ship their product. Vapor Flask sounds like they're bending over backwards to straighten out any issues on their part.

Yeah in fact that most of the chips do work just some are faulty ... We aren't doing their r and d but we just have faulty chips... Even then my faulty chip works 99% of the time ...I guess we are the Toyota recalls of the vaping industry...

My flask has had some problems but I've now retired all my attys with nickel... It's working fabulously for me... Tons of flavor

It sounds like 100% of the time your chip isn't working correctly.

That is why he is saying he won´t buy until Evolv solves the problem ^^^^^ Or like a car buyer would abstain from buying a Toyota if they had a recall. Just common sense. I just don`t get why when someone owns a device he/she takes a negative comment personal.

Nope just correcting him.. And sticking up for the maker... He's a great guy with great customer service..

I just feel that maybe Evolv panicked a little with all the chips coming out and decided to realease their board a little too soon, and VF trying (and this is an excellent service) to keep up with the demand forgot a little in the QC department. You feel great now because YOUR board is performing like its supposed to but what about the "minority" reporting problems, yep we have the right to be upset, we shouldn`t be paying a dime more of what we already paid to send our units for repairs, I have to pay $65 to send it to the US, do you think this is fair....
