Need more post like this...

This $300 is burning a hole in my pocket

I'd give more it I could spend more than 10 minutes on builds over the past week..... ;)

This weekend will be one that gives me the needed time to test it on drippers, more kayfun builds and in an Orchid.

Yes it's evolv's fault... Bring it over there and just keep it to sexy vapor flask goodness here

Well maybe the board problems are evolv's fault but what about their qc? Half of the posts are crooked screens, missing buttons, buttons that were not milled to spec, scratches, stripped screws. I and others are not bashing them but it does stink to have shelled out$300 plus and have nothing in hand and no date for a returned product. Not to mention a lack of response to emails at this point. All successful company's have growing pains it is how you handle them that makes a great company.

Then speak with ur wallet and return it and don't buy one... I for one think it's still an awesome device for a decent price

Do tell how one could do that. I know the place I got it from had a zero return policy. That said I don't want my money back. I loved the device and look forward to getting it back. We all just want to feel like it was money well spent. Many here don't have the feeling right now and it's not just because of evolv is all I was saying.

And why isn't it just all Evolv. They manufactured and distributed the faulty chips. I don't see how testing by VF would have made any difference. Most units seemed to work OK for an hour or two or longer. How could VF be held responsible for that. I saw only a very few complaints about cosmetic issues. I'm very confused by your statement.

Look on facebook and see how many positive posts there are. Most are crooked screen and other issues. Read other posts here and pictures of people with qc issues. All I am saying is it is not just an evolv qc problem here and that is it. I never once said the chip problem was their fault or that they should have been able to see the problem. Why would vapor flask stop shipping so they could inspect every device before being shipped? What I am saying is they should answer emails better, and not make the customer who had qc issues pay for shipping it back to them. Is this not a place to discuss the Vapor Flask and things good and bad?

I also feel that at the end of the day we are purchasing from Vapor Flask, I know that the faulty chips are not their fault at all, but I don`t feel its ok to send the units to evolv, do you think they will be cautious not to scratch the devices, to place the screen properly, I really doubt they will treat the devices with any care. Also someone here starting comparing these devices with Toyotas and Apple products, when you have a problem with a Toyota recall most of the time its because of sensors, modules etc whic they do not make, they are outsourced to companies like Bosch, etc, same as Apple most of the chips inside are bought from other companies and they are not saying "hey the faulty abs sensor is from Bosch so..... go to them or the problem is with the chip made by Intel send your iphone to them".

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Rossum has used Ti and posted images.

I'm still interested in your thoughts on it though.

Yeah, i got alot of info from his posts, but he mostly tried it pre-DNA40 (or at least from what i saw of what he posted). Also got info on Ti from a blog post by mikepetro on "dna40 and Ni200", & a couple other places i forget where. I wont receive the wire for a while yet, but want to try it for its potential to be easier to work with because it's 24g & 10x the resistance of Ni, (even if it's not quite as accurate w/tc). And it was $12 for 50 feet, so not a big loss if it doesn't work out.

Love the Flask so far, such precision engineering, & beautiful. (only a tiny scratch by one of the batt covers, cant even see it w/the cover screwed in, also screen is just a tad crooked but not so much that i would have even noticed it if i wasn't looking for it)

Not trying to fight with any member, we are all friends here, together in this adventure we call vaping. Lets just have a conversation like adults, share our thoughts, opinions without taking anything personal, I think that even the owners of VF and Evolv wouldn´t take any of this personal I would think they understand the opinions of clients which, with very valid reasons are not happy with their products and not because of personal taste or stupid things but like I said earlier very valid reasons. Lets think for a moment why would someone buy a $300 device when there are lots that cost fraction of the price even with the same board, 1. they liked the design 2. they thought they`ll receive a well made almost flawless unit without any cosmetic problems 3. they enjoy the performance the board will give them, out of the three only point 1 is being delivered, at least for me.

VF has sent some of their own people to Evolv to work with Evolv on the problems so I would imagine they will take great care in making the repairs to our Flasks.

As far as communication. I have communicated with the owner of VF through FB messaging. That seems to be his preferred method of communication. I'm not a FB person, but once I figured this out all my questions were answered within minutes.

It would have been a much longer process to send these back to VF and then they would have had to send the chips or opened units back to Evolv. This was done to streamline the process and get our Flasks back to us as soon as possible.

And in all the posting I have read I have only seen a handful of cosmetic issues reported. Fortunately I had no cosmetic issues. But if I had I would have made a point of getting my Flask returned to VF and would have never sent it to Evolv.

I agree completly and also am not trying to start a fight here with members. I am just one guy saying how I feel about a product I spent hard earned money on. The fact remains even if evolv sent a good chip mine would still have had to go back. The fact still remains I love the device regardless and can't wait to get it back. The feel of the unit in hand and in my pocket, it's looks, and battery life are second to none.

So since you had cosmetic issues did you just send it back to VF? Never mind you already answered.

I hear you. The thing that has me worried is this: I do have cosmetic issues, minor flaws in the aluminum, the top screws are stripped crooked screen (which hopefully will be fixed with the board replacement) and other few things that honestly I would just looked the other way if my board was ok, but I just don´t know what to do; I have to pay $65 to send it to the US if I send it to Evolv which of course I have to pay return shipping what if they are not as cautious and send the unit scratched and what not, then I would have to pay again to send it and over again to have it back. For me probably is just a safer bet to send them directly to VF and they see if they want to replace the board themselves or send me another unit, don`t you think? I would really love to hear opinions.

I think in your case you should send yours to VF. You can message him right now on FB and probably talk through this with him. Go to the Vapor Flask FB page and send a message to Vapor Flask. He has answered me very quickly at this time of night (here).
