Anyone know what ingredient could make the ecig vapor absorb in the mouth? I'd like to make a smoking mixture that I could take to resteraunts that wouldn't produce vapor if inhaled, just so I don't have to deal with people givign glaring looks, plus I'd liek it for the house when company is over, just to be a bit conciderate & not fill room with clouds of vapor.

Ever since rediscovering my used Big Pharma Nicotrol Inhaler, I've been refilling it with e-liquid and using it everywhere in public. It will never be challenged or cause any confrontation. The core of the inhaler was wet with 10mg of nicotine when it was new. It is now wet with 24mg e-liquid. And it was proof that vapor is not needed to get nicotine into the lungs from a moist source. I've spiked the nicotine liquid with Bickford Kahlua and almost prefer this inhaler to the e-cig! Man, it's tasty.

Als- playing around with my homemade juices, I've been able to cut back on the glycerin a bit, and produce a vapor that is mostly absorbed fairly quickly (3-4 seconds or so) in the lungs if you hold your breath. My previous mixture, it seemed I couldn't hold my breath liong enough for most of it to absorb and not produce any vapor upon exhale (Which as I mentioned is my goal so I cna smoke it in resturaunts without gettign glares from people who freak out over seeing 'smoke'). A little vapor will still come out, but it is very thin and not too visible, and if I exhale quickly, down beside my chair, it's almost non visible

I added more PG to my tobaco juice and Glycerin mix so probably my mix is now 70% PG 25% Glycerin which I add about 20% tobacco juice to (These figures are real rough estimates of course). I can get the prefilled carts that you buy to not produce vapor on exhale, but I have to hold my breath for about 8 or more seconds at least- too long for comfort- plus I don't liek hte fact that I have to hold all that in the lungs for so long- I'd think the quicker you can exhale, the better off for hte lungs you'd be- but htis is just a guess.

How does it work TB? Does it atomize the liquid? Sounds interesting, and could be the next big "Big Pharma" product- customizable flavors for the inhaler- might just help people quit smoking better if it actually tastes better than I'm sure the default inhaler flavor.
There's no atomizer mate its just a plastic cig with nicotine sponge in the middle. you suck the nic out no vapour just the air you suck through it :)

Correct. I guess I thought we'd all tried one of these. They look like little stubby white cigars and pull apart to reveal a cylinder containing a core filter. The core has 10mg of nicotine solution soaked into it when new.

A user then sucks on the inhaler, dragging nicotine from the core. You can feel a blast at the back of the throat with each inhalation. But it dries up pretty quickly and 10mg is not strong enough.

What I did was drip the dry core full of 24mg e-liquid and tried that. I just have no way of knowing how much nicotine I'm getting, though. So I went ahead and filled it with tasty Bickford Kahlua, homebrew, some glycerin and e-liquid. Now it tastes great. Very sweet. Very Kahlua-like. No, I don't actually get much, if any, of that liquid in my mouth while using the inhaler. Just the taste of it.

I don't depend on this for my nicotine. So how much I'm getting almost doesn't matter. But I can use this anywhere, since it's a prescription product. And the placebo effect is strong. This is actually much easier to clamp between my teeth than any e-cig I've used.

And it did make me think we're getting nicotine even when an electronic cigarette is not vaporizing liquid well. Our non-vaporizing e-cig is really just an inhaler with a wet core -- just like Big Pharma's. If we got rid of the battery and atomizer and put a new front on the thing ... we'd have a non-prescription nicotine inhaler!

Just a fun little diversion. I still use the e-devices and the snus.

My brain won't quit on this: How hard is it to remove the inner part of a mini cig battery? How hard to remove the atomizer from inside its tube piece?

I have a dead battery for the Health mini cig. A dead atomizer for the same mini cig. If I took the internals out of both, but kept the threaded link ups, I could create an empty e-cig onto which I could attach a soaked-with-nicotine cartridge/mouthpiece.

What it would be is a lightweight, cigarette-lookalike nicotine inhaler! No vapor at all. Just nicotine-laced air. Using my 24mg liquid, this would be twice as strong as Big Pharma's prescribed inhaler.

This begs the question about whether the PG in the liquid is really the carrier for the nicotine in the fluid, or just the way to get visible vapor. If someone sucked in the same volume of vapor and the same volume of vapor-less air, would the nicotine hit be the same if the cartridges were identical?

Ah, ha!
Anybody know.

I picked a penstyle battery apart yesterday, Bob. The threaded end came loose so I just picked that out, pulled the LED cover off the other end and pushed the battery core through with a screwdriver. Kind of mashed the battery connections up (there are delicate parts at either end) but you don't actually want to keep the internals, apart from the thread housing (which is a nice solid insert). No info on the atomizer, but it can't be that well made...

I am leaning that way. We've read reports on this forum of users getting dizzy and having all the symptoms of nicotine OD from sucking an e-device that "wasn't working" because the atomizer wasn't making vapor. Might that not indicate they were getting nicotine particles in the air moving through the e-cig -- vapor or no vapor? It's worth tinkering with this idea ... I'm beginning to think more and more that the vapor is more for show than nicotine delivery. I think Ruyan knew that when it marketed low-vapor units, particularly the Ruyan Vegas. We shall see.

I think your totally right TB why would the e-cig be any different to the inhaler the vapor is purely secondary ! ?

interesting...

well, whether the vapour is more for show or not...i find it an essential part of the esmoking experience, and the more the merrier as far as im concerned.

I agree - however, in places where you can't e-smoke (like during a business meeting or speaking with clients) then it would be nice to have. Just to hold you over until you can have a real e-cig smoke. :)
