Most probably this is due to VS announcing Vapor Flask for 200$ on their FB page. Also Evolve will be coming out with a new chip this fall.

It's also possible they're changing to a different style box (as I was informed by a VS employee) and are selling off the old style.

Just so you guys know a VS representative on Reddit has admitted these sale devices will glitch randomly to then goes on to blame Evolv for VS's choice to use glitching chips of which VS is passing them off to the customer without informing them of this fact.

"Everyone has seen videos of this new firmware glitching and the screen resetting. That's an Evolv thing, and I do not represent Evolv. I will say this though, the screen refreshing allows the device to be read while not firing and the glitching is completely random. It is a fully functional chip. If you have an issue with that, please take that up with Evolv."

So...should I bother purchasing the rDNA40? The price cut would have sealed the deal, had I not known about the issues.
I think it's definitely worth it. I have one of the glitchy boards in my Hana V4. It's random (only happens 10-20% of the time) and doesn't affect the vape quality. The screen resets when you let go of the fire button so it's really not much of an issue. I also bought a VS DNA40 the same week and I haven't seen it glitch at all (yes, I vaped looking at it in front of a mirror).

Thanks, much appreciated! It seems like the cloned versions of the VS might actually be worth a shot. I've seen a few go for $70, and no reports of a glitched board. Besides, if it breaks I could just replace it for another $70 instead of paying VS's ridiculous $80 fee...or whatever it is now.

Does anyone know if these new prices are permanent? Or is it a sale? I inquired about any new chips/devises that VS might be coming out with, but was informed by their customer service that all they could tell me is that they are releasing the VF/VS collaboration. He said he could not comment on anything else...figures.

These should be the permanent pricing for the devices from now on. As to the speculation as to why, a lot of reasons where said and whether or not to be true is still a good deal. I bought my rDNA40 from the scratch and dent which luckily still has warranty as I had to send it back due to a nasty battery drain from inactive use. Which the case was a bad PCB board they replaced for me and has been back in my hands for almost a week. I tested it again while letting it sit for 24hrs with no atty attached and fully charged (last time it drained 50%+ battery) and now I can happily say it hasn't done it again. Now with this shark week coming up, I'm gonna have to go into hiding so that I can avoid a purchase of the DNA40 version .

If your talking about the SKX chip VS clones they should no longer be on the market as VS was awarded a patent in China. I haven't looked but if there are still around it might show up on Alibaba.

Thank you! I've actually been waiting on shark week. Around when will that start? I actually tried to inquire about that, but the CS agent I spoke with refused to comment. If its anything like last year, that additional 15% off would drop the rDNA 40 to a mere $110...that's something I can justify paying for an aluminum box with a board :D.

Regarding the clone, I was referring to another one that is sold on vapor alley ($90). There's also one that I found for $70...but if shark week is really happening, I may as well go with the authentic.

I'm surprised they are getting away with selling that stateside eithed, the clone. I wouldn't go for that one especially after these new prices. Also the clones are pure junk, except the ni purity versions.

Very true. I can live without nickel purity, so I suppose I should go with the authentic. Now I can't decide whether to wait on shark week, or just order. Not even sure if shark week is going to happen.
