I actually do have some OT questions! I will soon be receiving an Ultimate Ultimatum Kit (woo-hoo!! :D) and I do have questions about charging the batteries and PCC. (I have only owned one e-cig up to this point, and these were issues that existed - and then evolved - with that model)

I'm just wondering if the battery, once fully charged, can remain attached to the:
(1) wall charger
(2) USB charger
(3) PCC
...without it then starting to drain/discharge. Or can you leave the battery attached to any/some of these devices for an extended period of time (i.e. overnight).

Similarly, I am also wondering if the PCC itself, once fully charged, can safely remain plugged in for an extended period of time (i.e. overnight).

Thanks for your help! I can't wait for my VK!

p.s. Oh, speaking of charging these items, does anyone know if the batteries and/or PCC arrive fully or partially charged?

Not OT at all! Things I am trying to remeber to add!
Basicly yes to all of your questions, except the PCC is not charged fully.

The batteries are fully charged when you get them, the batteries and chargers are "smart" you can leave them plugged in with no ill effects and they will top off the batteries through the day.

Not OT at all!

LOL - oh, I thought from this first comment...

Yeah, we are trying to move past that and get back OT now.

...that OT meant "ON topic" :)

Anyway, thank you! That's great to hear. I do not like worrying about having to watch the clock while things are charging.

Now, by this...

...and they will top off the batteries through the day.

...do you mean it's even okay to recharge a partially drained battery?

Well, the batteries are almost fully charged. I never bother to charge them before using.

Be warned that the first time you charge the PCC, it will take a loooooong time! It could take as much as 6 hours. After that, it will generally be much faster because it probably won't be discharged as much.

Thanks, Pawpaw... I'll be sure to get it charging as soon as I get it!

And thanks for putting this FAQ together, sawlight!

ROFL!

I'm talking about the VK cartomizer.

When you put it on a 68mm battery, the "cigarette's" overall length goes up by a whopping ~33%. No need to compare it to anything but itself.

When I was shopping, I thought I'd be most comfortable with the XL since I smoked 120's. Turns out that a regular + cartomizer is about, what, 117ish?

I believe the batteries are shipped with about 80% charge, as being stored for long periods (ie months) at a full charge can have a slight negative affect.
You cannot overcharge the batteries, and as pawpaw said, they have no real memory to worry about (You'd have to try real hard over a long period of time to get any noticeable memory affect, longer that the usual battery life if it's used on a semi-regular basis)
So you can recharge them whenever you like.
Now, the only reason they are recommended not to be 'left on the charger' is because no matter how stringent, at some point there's going to be a cluster of faults coinciding to create a situation when a recharging battery overheats - a lot - and can possibly cause a fire. The risk is minuscule, so minuscule I don't think there's any recorded cases with any brand/make/model of ecig batteries, and only a couple I know of with cellphone batteries, which is why I ignore it, and put all my batteries on charge overnight :p
But yeah, batteries can usually be used right out of the box (I believe the dodgy mini's were low initial charge, from a diff manufacturer, but V4L no longer uses them) and can alll be charged whenever you like, for however long you like.

I've been a Vapor King user since the days Steve was taking orders via email for at the time he had no website.

I dont know about being able to refill those carts up to 20 times. After my 3rd refill (on average) the filler starts to burn.

I normally go with 3 refills and order another 50 or so new carts for I average about 5 per day. They may be refillable but the carts are really made to be used once then thrown out hence "disposables".

Honestly, I have yet to come across a refilled cart that matches the taste of a brand new cart.

The biggest plus the VK has is the fact that it is a 2 piece design, pratically maintenance free and a joy to vape with.

I can't make mine taste right either after the 3rd refill. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I could be just sucking it to death since I need a hard hit every time.
Yeah, I get about 4 refills before I've basically killed it, however I am sure you can get more life out of it by doing a few basic things I don't bother with:
a) wash it out between refillings
b) use a battery at <5 volts (as opposed to the 5v PT)
c) While vaping, rotate cartos if you're vaping a lot - don't let a carto get hot.
d) stop vaping before it tastes 'done' (which is something you'd need to learn over time, as by it's very nature there is no indication of the best point to stop aside from experience)

Doing all of the above should give you an easy 10 refills, or thereabouts. Even with all the above the disposable atomizer will still burn out sooner or later.

Personally, I do none of the above, I don't wash, I use PT whenever I can, I overheat my cartos on a regular basis (15 second drags, 3 at a time, every few minutes, pretty much), and I vape till I taste the burn.
So 3-4 refills is all I get, but I'm happy with that.
