Has anyone tried a nickel build with a genny yet?

Mamu posted a pic of her genny build. She used twisted 34 gauge Ni200.

FWIW, I just pulled the battery on my rDNA 40 from Vapor Kings and there is a sticker under the battery that has a date of 12/8/2014 on it.

It's not unlikely that Vapor Shark has done small test run(s) of the changed rDNA40 version(s) and sold those to dealers that have the experience to diagnose any unforeseen issues that may provide unpleasant surprises.

Any suggestions on a fix for preventing scratches from screwing on the atomizer on top of the rDNA 40? I be sure not to screw it down too hard, but even so, I'm starting to get rings/scratches around where the atomizer reaches the actual unit. Obviously it's purely superficial, but if anyone has any successful ideas beyond a piece of tape on top it would be much appreciated!

I received my new RDNA40 Vapor Shark from Vapor kings Wednesday afternoon. I like the device; it’s very compact and fits in my hands comfortably. Makes my hana modz DNA40 look big.

Be careful with this device. I had a leak from one of my RDA’s last night and when I woke up this morning I found juice inside the LCD display inside the device. There is a seam that runs from the end of the 510 connector’s air channels, all the way down the device. This seam is not sealed at all. Anything the leaks out of you device and into the air channels will end up inside the case and all over your DNA40 board. When I opened the device up to clean it out, there was no gasket or sealer on any of the case joints. I managed to get everything cleaned out and running, but I am probably going to use some silicon to make sure this does not happen again.

Obviously, it’s my fault for over filling the RDA, something I do a lot. But a small amount of black silicon during assembly might be a good idea. Had this been a large tank device, it could have made a big mess, or even shorted out the device.

Someone asked me if the device a bought from vapor kings has any of the new features. The device has Zip charging, but not the larger screen or the reverse battery buzzer.

I did get my Lemo yesterday in the mail and built it with nickel. Did the same 9 wrap around a 6-32 screw. for about .18ohms.

Kiwi is right - it performs awesomely with the nIckel build when everything is dialed in appropriately. I can't believe how much vapor I can make with it. It's been super fun. I think it's definitely worth a go even if you're not a cloud chaser for the $35. :)

I screw atty's down until they -just- make flush contact with the top of the VS. If you are doing that, and still getting scratches, I would just look at the bottom of your atty's to see what might be causing it. Maybe you need to put some sort of tape on the bottom ring of your atty if it's gnarled at the bottom and causing the scratch? Just my thinking here.

Edit: I would bet this is likely to happen if you have the bottom screws out for air flow control on something like the KayFun Lite Plus, in which case you either leave the device less flush, screw it in more, or take out the screw completely (which is what I've done with mine). Good luck.

Yup I just build a genny with kanthal like normal then take out the kanthal and wrap with nickel...

Next u turn the temp control up and look for hot spots, fix those and vape away...

It seems gennys and dna 40 were somewhat made for each other

If be terrified of leaks. Aren't gennys prone to leaking?

i've been wondering the same thing. Thinking about either taping the bottom of atty or cutting a ring out of the same screen protector material I used to cover my lcd window.

P.s. this finish is a juice magnet! i'm trying to keep my new baby clean but im wiping it down every time I vape

I cut a few rings out of an old (but new) Ipod Touch screen protector. The top of my rDNA looks brand new.

Depends on how they are built... But aren't all rdas prone to leaks too in the same conditions... My Origen genesis can sit on its side and not leak a drop... Same with my rocket r and hellfire mods

mine has the same date DRLyman.

Looks like we received a couple from the same lot. Good to know neither one has experienced any problems. I'm also going to use your suggestion about cutting a screen protector. I have a bunch of them here that came with phone cases, but I never use them. Thanks for the tip.

DRLYMAN has your screen glitched? I was told that mine had been upgraded. It has zip charging and battery buzzer but it just glitched on me :( should I contact evolve, vaporshark or vaporkings to get it fixed?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news:facepalm:

Vaporshark is much faster than evolv

That doesn't sound good at all. Mine has been working fine so far. If you go to Vapor Kings site and fill out a ticket, they will contact you. Probably will have to wait until Monday, but not sure. When I did that, they called me within 10 minutes.
I asked them if these were the rDNA's with the fixed boards and he said they were. I asked about the larger screen because on their website it said they had the larger screen, but that changed after I ordered it to say they weren't the ones with the larger screens. He told me to use it a few days and see what I thought and if I didn't like it I could send it back for a refund. He was very nice about it. I've never had a problem with Vapor Kings before. I think they will take care of you.

I saw your post about the refund and called them yesterday they said they couldn't give refund only repair and send back to me. I talked to Jeff.

If I send to vaporkings they wouldn't have the newest version to send me how would they be faster than evolve or vaporshark?

Edit: just reread post. So I should contact vaporshark? I figured evolve, source of boards, would be fastest since they have the boards on hand..

I have had a hard time topping my VS with anything other than a lemo since I've gotten mine! 3 and counting! Such a nice big deck for the spaced nickel builds.
