Haha yep John will certainly add the reverse battery protection on his next chip. Hindsight is always 20/20. That company has sure changed vaping for the better. I lay the battery next to the one I am swapping too. What did you use for those bands on your batteries. Is that battery shrink wrap? Those look nice and clean. Were they precut from somewhere?

On those batteries I had 1/8" chart tape. But they would not fit in my mechanical mods with the tape on, so now my batteries are just marked with a couple of permanent marker stripes at the negative end.

Or... people could look at the QR code which is usually at the top.
Or look/feel the opening for the smaller end of the battery.
Or do what Newport and several others here do.

Up next - airbags for batteries

I'm telling you man, email them. I didn't get ANYWHERE till I sent that email. I was immediately helped and had mine in 2 days after the initial email was sent.

I have emailed them multiple times. They said sorry for the delay we'll send it when we can. I asked them to throw in a shark skin and they said they don't give away free stuff.

I'm over them and will never give them business again.

Best purchase I've made so far vaping related. My rDna is the best mod I've ever had. I'm absolutely in love with it.

My only gripes are related to the chip itself from evolv. Like the refresh rate is .... compared to the clones, you can see it when changing watts or pressing fire quickly to see how many volts are being fed to the coil, pretty jagged and low refresh rate.
When I quickly press fire it shows me the volts immediately and the battery refresh when changing the wattage is also fast enough for me.

It is fast enough to see but does it not look a bit jagged when the screen is changing values? I just want to know if I have a faulty chip or not. Cause my Cana looks smooth as hell when scrolling through wattage etc on the VS it looks almost like it's intermittent.

Premade for the rDNA and a good fit. Easy to put on because its one nice piece. Unlike the my Hana clones which show gaps. I like the patina wrap on my provari.

One piece? I thought they made the wrap for the rDNA in two pieces so you could still take off the battery cover.

Tap'd from my LG G2

Its one piece but the cut is at the batter cover so you can open it.

man.. so weird.. most of us got shipped, delivered.. but a few random folks.. get screwed. bummer, because it spoils what has been a magnificent experience for me, and seemingly most. The product straight up rocks. the business side of VS.. seems a lil less than stellar..

I agree however if they would communicate there issues a little better people would understand. Instead they leave you in the dark and then that's when frustration sets in. C'mon VS!

I do believe that your statement is the shortest most concise summation that really hits the mark for the majority of issues.

In my situation people ordered a black RDNA after me and received them. When I called they said they only had Gunmetal, and that unless I wanted to wait for an indefinite time frame I needed to opt for gunmetal. Wish I had known when they said this that people had received their proper color ordering after I did. I do believe Brian meant well rushing my order out, and I appreciate that. It puts me in a position where I feel like the bad guy to have to return it when others after me got the black RDNA they ordered.

You ordered black but switched to a gun metal color because that's all they had right?

After waiting past different promised shipping times and calling yet again. Yes, that was their statement to me, but others that ordered after me have received black. So, my decision was based on untrue statements from them. Maybe not intentional deceit on their part, but something doesn't add up. Honestly, kind of over the whole thing. I ordered on 8/19.

I think Gunmetal is what they shipped, but no way to know for sure since others have gotten black after I ordered. My online account still says black RDNA which was my original order and desired color. It was sent UPS 2 day air shipped on Thursday ,but because of the holiday that is 5 days. I will find out Tuesday. At that point I can either keep it, or get a return shipping label for return and wait some more for a black RDNA. I realize some may perceive my comments as an angry consumer, but for anyone reading this that isn't the case. Frustrated and disappointed. Yep, you bet.

Newport, Hope you get it soon... That is frustrating to say the least.. They surely need someone else in that shipping dept sending orders out..

What happens to our rDNA when the bat and the bat icon is toast? So I decided to find out. Running a vct5 purchased from a trusted vendor, see this pic

upload-1.jpg

Sorry if it's not totally clear. The bat grapic was empty and I kept vaping just fine. Never counted the draws so ballpark draws after the graphic was empty was around 20 draws /lol

FINALLY my fellow geeks when I pressed the fire button the display FLASHED "Evolve DNA" every time I took a draw which I continued to do just for kicks. The fire button did not flash like it does on a Vari. Maybe 5 draws and then I stopped and removed the vct5 to charge with my XTAR. It read 3.32! HA! /lol

HTH

:)

I scratched mine the first day I got it with the fill screw from my Fogger. I thought the screw was below flush, but the swaging burrs on the screw head were above flush and put a pretty gnarly scratch around the 510 connector.

I've since polished the screw off, but I'm not terribly worried about the scratch. It looks really bad, but only with the tank off (even eGo-sized tanks hide it) and this thing is going to get much worse than that the ways and places I use it (I've already forgotten it in my backhoe bucket, rattling around with an axe.) I bought a durable mod for a reason.

I feel annoyed that I wasn't able to making it through the first half hour with it without scratching it up...

First off if you don't have a shark skin for your rDNA's then GET ONE! They are a very durable & comfortable rubber that will DEFINITELY protect the mod, at least the parts it covers anyway. Regarding the scratches, if they really bug you then go to a local auto parts store & get some car touch up paint. Tognotti's would be a good place as they have all kinds of touch up paints so I'm sure they have a color that will match close enough. Apparently the finish on the rDNA is electroplated paint, so I imagine car touch up paint would work perfect for filling in scratches. There are several kinds of car touch up paints but you'll only need a very small bottle & preferably one with a small felt pen like applicator tip. Just lightly draw over the scratch, let dry & it will be MUCH less noticeable if at all.
