Been gone for about a week but back. Just an update with how my rDNA is doing.

Been holding up well other than the fact the fire button chrome finish has completely come off. Not a big deal, get's used A LOT.
Also, it has fell twice on concrete hard from about 4 feet high and 5 feet high with a sharkskin but luckily nothing happened or broke, and still works fine!

So far the quality of the build minus the firing button have been rock solid. I also prefer not to have to deal with them again. haha

yes, the chrome has worn off my firing button as well. But it remains a sturdy piece of vaping equipment. Loving the TOBH still as well.

That sucks. I don't use mine anymore now that I have a reo, though. My buttons are still plated.

I think the black chrome on the fire button is just a coating. So if your body chemistry is acidic, the chrome will wear off. I used to have that problem with backs of cheap watches.

Yes the 3D printed ones, I've been vaping one for over two weeks and they are taking off like wildfire.

They aren't something for retail, it's a true mod.(i.e. something you make)
I've got 3 more on my counter I'm planning to build this week along with a super top secret something.

Once they take off - we're just out of Beta - it wouldn't surprise me if SlowTech did them with a wonky 3rd party clone board or gajigawatt one

The 3D printed parts come from ShapeWays.
Then you assemble it yourself.
Weighs in about 145 grams.

This is the latest one I'm working on for myself with a matching bronze fire button:

And one with stainless steel accents I'm making for a friend:

Edit: I'm running so low on VTC batteries I may need to borrow the one in my rDNA soon !

So you have no sympathy at all for those who vape because nic helps with their Parkinson's disease? ;)

I say that only half in jest because there's at least one such person here on ECF.

Old Joke: Which is worse, Alzheimer's or Parkinson's?

Parkinson's is worse because I'd rather forget about my beer than spill it! :D

I may not be the person you mention but I am a person who progressed rapidly to a stage four diagnosis. (Out of five). The Parkinson's symptoms appeared shortly after stopping a 55 year cigarette habit.

Three years and a couple thousand ml of juice later and there are very few symptoms of Parkinson's, barely stage 1. As per several astounded neurologists.

There are other factors involved (seven miles/day average brisk walking). The two factors are related. Couldn't do much walking with a two pack a day habit.

On topic...still love my shark week rDNA. Thinking of getting the smaller one for walking.

If things get hinky with the FDA and you ever need nic, I'm just down the road.

Hey just received my Rdna today love the size compared to my full size hana.Just curious is there a way to shut the lights off on the button ? Going to be kinda bright when it's dark out . Thanks

I've had my rDNA for 5 days so far and like it very much. Running ProTank 2's without any issues. I'm vaping at 8 watts currently with 2.2 ohm. Not into the more advanced tanks/sub ohm yet, but I'm reading up on the subject.

Small correction for the owners manual:
To lock the wattage a setting, you have to press the + and - buttons for at least 5 seconds or more. The display will verify lock mode. Same goes for the rest of the settings. Button(s) must be pressed for at least 5 seconds

The owners manual says to press these buttons for 2 seconds, but really needs 5 or more seconds.

The OLED screen is easy to read and auto dims when the trigger is not pressed. When pressed, the display gets twice as bright. If left unused for more than a few minutes, the display shuts off. There is stealth mode that kills the bottom display, but the blue LED around the PTV button still lights up. The clear cover over the OLED screen appears to be decent. Better than average cheap optical plastics.

The ohm meter seems spot on. My VTR would sometimes give false (?) readings. rDNA seems spot on with ohms.

I went with the bigger VTC5 2600 mah battery for a small upgrade charge ($10) which so far seems to be lasting longer than the same battery in a VTR. Was told to be careful if I change batteries because inserting the battery the wrong way will destroy the rDNA. There is a battery image inside where the battery goes so it would be hard to screw up and put it in backwards. I'm sure some people will do this.

So far, I'm impressed with the rDNA.
