I don't doubt you at all however that does look like black the gunmetal VS that I've seen in gun metal almost look like a light grey.

Was it a different model or beta unit? It's in no way black, but it is a dark gray. It may look lighter out of its skin. Wouldn't know.. heh.. I put the skin on immediately when it arrived.

Shock problem solved. I have a power strip where I sit to power my phone, lamp, laptop and VS of course. I thought I was charging the rDNA with the HTC charger, but after untangling the wires, it was plugged in to a cheap off brand, so I used the HTC and no problem. I found another charger and threw that cheap one out :)
thanks for reporting back and clearing that up!

All over the place
I received a "check atomizer" on a build that meters out at ~.7Ω. Ι checked it on a ohmeter and a multi-meter. On my mechanical it fires fine and it was firing fine on my VSr, but now it keeps saying check atomizer and I can't understand why. Has anyone else had this happen? I am using my Origen V2 with a DC 27 g build.

p.s. No hot spots, no weird firing and no metallic taste. Everything seems to be copacetic, except on my VSr. What gives?

Since you checked it on a ohmmeter and multimeter and it appeared fine. Seems for some reason you aren't getting a good connection at the 510. What happens if you put a different topper on does it read? Not sure what you are building on. Can you extend the 510 connection. No screws,AFC,etc. keeping it from connecting properly. Just a few random thoughts.

Happy Labor Day to those that celebrate. Today marks 1 week for me and my rDNA. The shinyitis is all but gone now. I look back to waiting with anticipation of it's arrival and how impatient I was. We seem to want that instant gratification and the wait is just almost unbearable. But coming here and chatting with all of you, some who had theirs and those of us that were still waiting, made it fun, or an outlet for complaint. No VaporShark wasn't ready for the onslaught and stumbled a bit, but are clearing up the mess. Now that most have received our devices, the number of people posting to this thread and the frequency is dwindling. This is a great little device and does everything it promised. It's very well designed and built and has the much anticipated replaceable 18650 battery. Mine is now my constant companion that quietly does what it was intended to do.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your support, wisdom, chuckles and friendship. Don't get too excited, I'm not going anywhere LOL. I look forward to chatting with you all soon.

Don

Yeah, everything else fires fine -- even at barely .5Ω. Ι figured it may be a connection issue, but I cant understand why it did fire before but not now. I guess with safety protections and such, sometimes it only takes a hair off this or that way for something to appear amiss to the "brains." I guess in the end, there are drawbacks and benefits to safety-feature devices and raw, mechanical devices.

And I can adjust the center post, but that would mean tearing down my build -- not a bad thing, just one that I don't feel like doing right now.

Edit: it was the connection, or the center post. I just put my Origen on a 510 adapter and then on my VSrDNA and it fires fine.

Agreed. This thread was awesome while I was waiting for my rDNA to ship, and its still very useful. I'm on day 4 with mine and it's still kind of neat. I have quit vaping at 19+ watts now though just for ....s and giggles.

Been busy with work all week so just been using my KF lite + clone. Just finished up my first build on my Magma clone. Got it to a 1.2ohm at 17watts.

Happy Labor Day to you as well. I have enjoyed our discussions.

Today marks two weeks since I ordered. It was with their expected ship date. This wasn't a "pre-order sale."
I am very happy that for some of people on this thread things have worked out at this point. Your instant satisfaction, impatient, and shinyitis comments are highly offensive. For those that still have not received what they paid for I doubt they would feel as you do.
In all likelihood when it shows up tomorrow it will be the wrong color. At which point I have to decide whether to just deal with it rather than stay in a prolonged run around, or have even more headaches. There was a Friday that all calls went to voicemail during business hours. I did leave a voicemail and never received a return call. In fact right after that they posted the video of their new vaporshark boat in lieu of an apology to all the customers. They know a lot of customers were screwed around with multiple quoted shipping times. This was while not returning customer calls or emails, and leaving paying customers in limbo on when they might even expect to get their device.

Thanks, great description. Makes me a lot less worried about charger choices knowing the device draw is the limiting factor.

So your saying it doesn't matter what charger you use because the device itself will regulate what it draws? Ive always heard (mainly regarding phones) that you have to use a specific charger (correct voltage, mAh & amp) for your device or it can ruin the battery or the device. My sister has a iPhone that she charges with a usb cable that plugs into a wall adapter, can I use that usb wall adapter to safely charge my rDNA?
