On the small display, when using kanthal, the temperature will switch to volts. What does the new large screen display for temperature when using kanthal?

YOURE RIGHT!! I was wondering why my new rDNA feels different. You're absolutely right.
The first rDNA has a matte feel to it. The newest one has a rubbery coat!

Unless it happens when the device automatically switches from Celsius temp mode to non-temp mode, I'm guessing most people would never see it. I've never found a reason to switch manually.
Put a regular ol' kanthal contact coil in my Lemo Drop. 4 failed (but not miserably failed) nickel builds and I got frustrated. I'll perfect my nickel builds in drippers before I attempt another tank, heh.
Still absolutely in love with the VaporShark though. This is my very first legit Evolv-powered device and I love how it performs. I like that it monitors the coil's resistance constantly and adjusts the power on the fly. Build quality is so....satisfying.
But that nickel, man. I'll get there, eventually.

I think I've gotten satisfactory builds down alright, my excellent builds are getting better, pure crap builds are still leading the pack.......... By a wide margin!!!

I've only done it once on a Fogger and it seemed to work ok. I haven't tried it since though. Maybe I will tonight!

I did a test on charging time. Although I don't have a 1A USB charger, I do have a 1A standalone 18650 charger. (Xtar WP2 ii)
In each test, I ran the battery down until it would no longer fire the atty on the rDNA 40. Battery was tested in this state at 3.15 volts.
Total time to charge a fully depleted LG 2500 mAh battery from the rDNA 40 at 1A - (3 hours, 39 minutes).
Next, I used the thick short cable that came with the rDNA 40 and a Smatree SmaPow P1 8A 5 port charger. This is capable of delivering any power the rDNA 40 Zip board requires up to 8A (assumably 2A). Total time to charge a fully depleted LG 2500 mAh battery from the rDNA 40 using full power - (1 hour, 43 minutes).
Charge time was close to half, as expected. While not a direct apple to apples charging comparison (since I don't have a 1A USB charger, only a decent standalone), and the charging algorithms are a bit different, it does give credence to the spec that calls for a 2A charger for the Zip board.
I have a USB inline amp meter ordered, and will do some amperage draw testing when it comes in. I am going to test the Qi wireless charging time as well.

Most mods usually cut off at 3.3v - 3.5v so I was surprised the first time I pulled my battery out and put it on my Nitecore D2 and it showed 3.14v. It takes about 3 hrs to charge on my Blackberry 1.8a charger which is about right (800ma charging board in the rDNA). It takes about 5 hrs on wireless so I haven't been using it a lot lately.

There is a caveat to this: the cut off voltage is not fixed, and is determined dynamically based on the cell's capacity to output the user's specified power.
So factors such as the health of the battery, the power you're vaping at etc all plays a part in what the resting voltage of the cell is when it stops firing.

So... how's the magnetic battery door on you guy's VS rDNA 40? Mine is pretty easy to slide over leaving a little gap before feeling the resistance of the magnets. I'm not sure if this is right, or should it sit tight in the closed position? If I try to fire turn around using my thumb it feels like this thing will just open up. Feels like weak magnets, maybe?
