I get a good warm vape using lr.

Using LR attys/cartos to get warm vapor is not nearly as effective as using a regulated, boosted PV to do the same thing. First LR's don't last as long as standard resistence attys/cartos. Second, as they degrade, they become inconsistent. Couple that with the battery drain issues of unregulated, unboosted PV's, they just can't deliver the consistency of a regulated, boosted PV.

I have never seen evidence of this LR atty/carto degradation you speak of.

I just took a meter reading off the last carto I used with a good quality DMM. This carto is a smok Tech single coil 2.0 ohm LR XL in stainless steel. I used this carto continuously for 12 days and vaped 30 ml of liquid through it. The carto metered at 1.9 ohms, still within Smok Tech's specified resistance accuracy of 0.2 ohm.

I retired the carto due to off-taste caused by the accumulation of heated e-liquid over time, not because this LR carto itself deteriorated in any way.

While I understand sr should last longer, as I coil my own heads for the vivi nova and soon to be doing so for an atom I haven't had any issue over how long something lasts, and I usually replace my coils well before they have to be simply because of taste.

I went the route of VV via the provari for a while. Good stuff with being able to change everything up with what is cheap for attys or carts at the time. I changed up and went variable watt and I like it better. I personally like 9 watt vaping. I dial in my kick or Darwin there and don't have to worry. If I want to move up in wattage I stack batteries in my GGTS and wrap a nice coil and I can cash my throat whenever I want lol
