I signed up for verification on 2/14/2013 and while I know it hasn't been that long, I'd like to check what is in the classifications before I make another big purchase on items I'll need soon. I don't want to bother the gentleman who okayed the submissions. Just would like to know if I make verification in the next week or two so I could plan accordingly.

I think it took me two weeks, and that wasn't that long ago. I'd guess you'll be verified within the next week. The prices aren't really any better than you'll get ordering from a vendor, unless you sign up for a coop.
speak for yourself, depending on the person selling of course but i have found substantial savings on some of the things i have bought.
even then maybe saving 30 bucks on a 200 dollar item isnt worth it to you, to me thats 30 more dollars to spend elsewhere just for an example.
i got my last provari V2 with ext cap for 100 in the classies. thats almost a 100 dollar discount.

Related noob question... how does one sign up to be verified? I tried looking in the settings, and searching the FAQ's, I can't seem to find it.

yea please dont get me wrong or take it the wrong way, its not every listing or every day, as i will admit, like many here, im a junkie for the classies and check them constantly. heck a quick look right now will show a few people even overcharging for stuff that will be for sale again once restock hits in a few weeks.
but for example i got a MMV DID last year when the site was out of stock for about 10 bucks less then the website then add the website shipping and suddenly its 19 bucks saved. got a cobra for 130 shipped with an extra tank, usually 150 plus 15 for the tank then shipping.
so it pays to be diligent and scan the ads and think about the parts we miss. like paypal conversion fees to euros, or international shipping, or even some items may be only a few dollars cheaper but you will have it in 3 days instead of 4 weeks from finland (like the somnium atty i got sheesh)
