I like that you can make a dual coil from a single strand of wire and you don't have to have the multiple legs shares the same screw. For this reason, I think dual coils on a Veritas is easier than most RDAs.
Ya, that's why I love the plume for dual builds. Separate post for every lead.
I mostly use singles on my V, but just due to preference more so than any other reason.

I wouldn't call it one of the easiest. Its definitely different, and I think it gets a bad rap because you can't approach it the same way you do most others. That said, having thumb screws instead of the nut up top would go a long way.

Personally, I thing any traditional double coil deck that has independent positive posts lile the plume veil are by far the easiest builds.

Don't let that take away from the V though. Its top notch.

I haven't bought any, but posts 13 and 34 in this thread provide a source for the thumb screws, Thumb Screws for Veritas – Fyre Fly Ecigs

I apparently don't re-coil often enough to bother, but I can see where thumb screws might be easier.

I can't get mine to taste good at all!!! Any details on build would be greatly appreciated!!! Guage wire, inside diameter, number of wraps, tight coil wrap or spaced, dual or single coil build, vertical or horizontal. and targeted ohm reading. I"ve rebuilt mine about 15 times and just can't get it to taste good. Its' weird~

Start simple. Single coil, 28 gauge kanthal, 8 - 10 wraps, 2.0 - 2.5mm inside diameter.

Depends in a few factors. What are you running it on? If its a mech, you won't get a ton of vape/flavor at 2 ohms.

My favorite on a mech is 6 wraps of 26g around a 2mm rod. Its somewhere between .3 - .5 I forget exactly what it comes out to. If you browse through my posts in this thread you'll see the build. I've posted picks of nearly anything you can build on a V in this thread.

Guys my veritas is seriously pissing me off, I cant get no flavor out of this thing, and im new to drippers, switched from nautilus mini to the very first veritas rda, wasted 25 ft nickel wire, ....ty taste every time lots of useless clouds though, so i been taking to vape shop to get builds but im sure theyre sick and tired of working on the scaritas. Recently i started screwing around 26g kanthal still not a fabulous vape like the people are praising, I been doing 6 wraps micro coils and just gave up on nickel wire completely, any suggestions would help :(

And is it an authentic Veritas?

What gauge nickel/build were u using?

In my personal experience its important to keep the coil a bit high on the airflow hole and as close to the airflow hole as possible without risking a short.

Since switching to nickel/TP a bit ago i find my best performance from a simple 30g 8 wrap spaced horizontal coil with a top flavor wick.

Its an authentic veritas running on vapor flask dna 40, i started with 28 gauge nickel then switched to 26 gauge kanthal, so with kanthal builds, i tried lotsa builds, so i been doing lots of micro horizontal coils wicked with kumo cotton.
Update: the dude at the shop frustraded wrapped 10-11 wraps 28 g kanthal on ekowool and is tastes somewhat better

All I know is many attys have trouble working on DNA40's. It requires stable resistance and the atty makers have not caught up with the demands of the DNA40. I would recommend going to a DNA40 thread for pointers on how to make your Veritas work on it. As for the Kanthal, I don't know what to say. i use 28 gauge Kanthal on mine and I get outstanding flavor. Single coil, 28ga, 10 wrap, 2.0mm, 1.5 ohms. Wick is about 1-1/4" long wrapped toward the channels and extending across the bottom toward the center.

I love my Veritas and have enjoyed reading through this thread. I melted the insulator a bit and simply snipped a little piece of silicone sampler condom and put it over what was left with no problems. Its really the only atty I can throw in my pocket and not worry about it leaking. I did screw it into the large Subtank beauty ring just to make it easier to get on and off my devices.

extra authentic peak insulators can be purchased separately. The places selling them as Veritas insulators run about 3 dollars each. There was a thread somewhere that had the size\ threading needed and you could order bulk peak nuts for a lot cheaper per unit.

I've been using a Magma clone with 28 Gauge Kanthal and like it, but I want to try a Vertas based on Rip Trippers review. I can't seem to find a "real" one in stock. So, I wondered if you good folks would be so kind as to tell me where to buy one and what spare parts to buy for it (insulators, gauge kanthal you recommend, etc.).

I looked at FastTech and they have about a dozen clones. Not sure if that's my best bet.

I read most of this thread and I'm still a bit confused which way to go.

Thanks for your help.

I got mine from fast tech and have had no complaints. They can be hit or miss though.

As far as spare parts, I haven't needed any, so I never bought any. I've only had mild melting of the nut, and it was due to a bad batch of wire I picked up that made hot legs unavoidable.
For wire gauge, depends on what resistance you want. I keep my V between .3 and .6 (single coil) so I use 26g kanthal. 28 would leave me with too few wraps, and 24 takes too long to heat on a mech.

If you want to go, say, .8+ I'd go with 28g

I use the 1:1 as they call it from Fasttech. I haven't had any problem with mine. I'm at .28ohm now. Which is about where I stay at. Its my favorite RDA to carry around. I don't think u can go wrong with that one. Just rebuilt mine earlier today. I had dual vertical coils. But they didn't do it for me flavor wise. I prefer a parallel veritcle coil. It gives me the best flavor with 26ga wire.
