I don't get why would you clean it with any kind of alcohol? Use water while water does the trick. When its too late for water, rewick the head and toss out the deteriorated wick. Wicks that come with most vision products are horrible anyway. Wicks and wire are cheaper, safer, and afterwards you're vaping on a new head, instead of the "cleaned" one.

The only thing is: the price is driving my decision - see, the rubbing alcohol I already have, and the vodka I don't. And I'm broke, and those coils need to be cleaned. Thus my original question. I think I'll soak them in alcohol, but I'll rinse them real good afterwards. I don't mind waiting a bit for them to dry.

Really? I didn't know Florida restricted that, bummer. My PGA is 190 proof (95% alcohol), here in Texas. Well even 70 clear alcohol will do it, it will just take longer.

For those using rubbing alcohol, your right. At the low levels you are probably not in danger. But let me pose a hypothetical question. If you had two Burger King sandwitches in front of you. One with a drop of rubbing alcohol on the meat and one regular. Which would you choose? With all the toxic things in the world that we can't avoid, why choose to add even a little more? Its just a matter of buying 1 product or the other. And please don't tell me the price difference is driving the decision. If you can afford to vape and buy these neat new goodies, you can afford to invest $12 in PGA. The $11 saving on getting rubbing alcohol is not worth it.

Do as you will. I just hate to see my vaping fellows ingest bad stuff if they don't have to.

I love my ViVi now. It was a little rough getting it going the 1st day, but now its dialed in. I think Vision still has some work to do on the 510 connector (Darth says "Darn 510!"), when I firm it down properly, it pushes the PV's 510 male node down. Then when I attach my SBFT DCT, it will not fire. Its easy to either lift the node a smidge or pull down the DCT's positive node a little, but why? I got the file and brought that protruding positive connetor down, the same as on a carto. Now I can interchange my devices with no fuss. It didn't affect the draw at all. Now even with that done, it can wobble / move in the threads a bit. I don't think they have there tooling spot on the 510 standards.

Now don't get me wrong it works and is very passable. But another minor tweak in China can improve it for future buyers.

Me too - 'cept in Florida nothing can be over 70% alcohol - even PGA is short of the mark here. I don't seem to have a problem using Isopropyl - and it's a darn site cheaper.

I think 70% the limit in many states including Utah. Had to get the 99% mail order.

If we were talking about a drop of rubbing alcohol I'd agree with you 100% but what is left after it evaporates and is washed in hot water couldn't be measured with anything less than scientific test instruments.

Not really sure I understand what PGA is? What percentage of any given amount is 190 proof alcohol?

PGA is pure grain alcohol. One name brand is Everclear. Since its made to consume, its safe to use to clean.

Duh!!! All I could think of was PG with alcohol added and if I did a search all I would get was PGA Golf. So where can one buy pure grain alcohol, certainly not in a Utah liquor store.

Back on topic, can you dry burn right away if you clean these with PGA?

I usually run mine under hot water for awhile then shake em off a good bit then dry burn and back in the tank.
