When I first got the Vivi I also hated them, both the mini and the big Vivi had a burnt taste.. I left the mini alone for awhile full of juice and came back to it later in the day and it worked amazing.. But the big one still burnt.. Then I figured out it wasn't my Vivi that was the problem it was my PV.. It sat to flush on my LT.. A few days later on Xmas I got a MVP so I popped on the big vivi and it works like a charm.. It's broke in and now gets the air flow it needed that my LT wasn't giving it..

Zoi, thats all that was intended, though I'm not find of picking fights or starting drama in forums I enjoy browsing, so I felt I should point out to the other user that none it was any intention to bad mouth GotVapes or anyone associated with them.

They got these things out to me in no time, all other products I ordered the same night are still at least 2-3 days out.. Even if they had sent me 3 defective products I wouldn't be talking negatively about the company, I'd be complaining about quality control from the actual manufacturer

Finch, see my post from before and make sure you have inspected the white insulator, and fix if necessary.

2nd, 4.2-4.8v is too high for a vivi on a 2.8 head. Start at 3.0v and work your way up. Dial it down. I run a vmax on 3.2 ohm heads no higher than 3.8v and on 2.8ohm heads never more than 3.3v.

The vmax runs about .5v higher than stated because of its pwm so in my terms with a provari 2.8 heads would run well around 3.7-3.8v. I vape my own 100%vg juices, never had a burned it yet on a vivi that wasnt my fault.

With any new coil i always start at 3.0v first.

I didn’t think you were Slamming gotvaps. Just sounded to me like you were about to toss those Clearos and were wanting to try anything to get them to work.

I’ve been using Clearos since the first Clearos came out.

And what I have learned is that there is No Perfect Clearo that works for All People, with All e-Liquids, at All Voltages. The Vivi Nova is a solid Clearo. And most people have good results with them. But not all.

I can tell you this. That the Burnt Taste you got was from Poor Wicking. And Poor Wick is caused by 2 main reasons.

1 – The Voltage is too high. The voltages you posted weren’t that Extreme. So I’ll rule that at for the moment.

2 – Something is keeping the wick from supplying Enough e-Liquid to the Atomizer Coil. This I think is your problem.

The simplest solution to this problem is to Tilt the PV so the e-Liquid pools in the area where the wick and the Coil come together. So for a Vivi Nova, this would mean tilting the PV Up when taking a hit.

You can also “Fluff Up” the wick where it enters the Coil area. Some people also lift up Seals. Or back off Drip Tips. Or thing their e-Liquids. Anything that might restrict e-Liquid from meeting the Coil should be Considered. And Anything you can do to make it easier for the e-Liquid meet the Coil will help.

I mention all of this not so much to fix your Vivi Nova’s, but because it applies to Any Clearos.

Lastly, I would Highly suggest that Any New Filler-less Cartomizer be given a Quick Dry Burn and Rinse Before the First Fill. It doesn’t happen as much anymore but Clearos have been known to have “Mystery Fluid” on the wicks which Tastes Terrible when vaped.

+1 This was my thought. I don't own a Provari, but I seem to recall they can have problems with tanks that sit too flush. The OP did mention the draw being extremely tight, which would be consistent with lack of airflow. I'd suggest just tightening the tank enough to make contact and fire or using a 510 adapter to allow a gap for airflow.

Buffalo, I lowered the voltage as suggested. Between how long this has been sitting now and the lower voltage, the burning and wicky taste is gone but I'm still struggling with the pull on it.

I'm not sure what would be causing it, but I have pull on this thing so hard it pulls my cheeks inward like I'm sucking on the straw of a thick milkshake ... lol

I followed what someone said about removing that piece completely and successfully did so though it didn't affect how hard I had to pull for a hit.

I've attempted not having the connection as tightly screwed on advice had to do with certain cartos before that closed off the ability to pull from them when they were on too tight, but when I loosen them just a hair, my Provari won't make connection to it.

Even without it being connected to my Provari, I can still barely pull on it..

Whenever I felt like the draw was too tight, it's usually th connection. I've not had one that is so tight even when not connected. They are certainly a different draw than a carto tank. Do all three feel the same? Maybe take out the head and replace the cap then check the draw? I've heard sometimes the individual heads can have a tight draw depending on their air hole and connection to the post inside the body, if that makes sense.
