I've been reading / watching a ton of good reviews on the Volts (the 510 style 65 or 78 mm, not referring to x2). Two years ago, I had the generic "510 style" to start with. I love the smaller form factor, but the performance was never good. I'm not concerned with the battery charge time with all of the PCCs out there, but rather the performance. Keep in mind I'm using an eGo Twist now, but I'm looking for a smaller form factor alternative. What voltage are these using? I love using LR clearomizers, so I have no problem using a lower voltage - but I do require a strong throat hit.

So I guess my basic question is has anything changed in the last 2 years that should make me consider trying these out?

Edit: What are the oHms of the various carts and new nano? Are their any LR available?

Thanks!

Not really. I'd keep the twist, plus all the accessories, tank options ect. 510 connection decent battery life and a variable voltage.

Most definitely keeping the Twist - just looking for a smaller alternative when I can't carry all of my Twist gear around.

Below is the video that got me into researching the Volt, and starting this thread!

These are Kr808D-1 threads at a regulated 3.7v . Generally around 2.4 - 2.8 ohm carto's. I haven't seen any LR(~1.7 ohms) devices but someone else might. You could use your egoC wall charger(1500ma) but you'd need to get the USB charger from SI. I'd get the 78mm's, they last about one ce3's worth. Volt's have very good vapor production and TH would be based on nic level.

P.S. Could someone explain what Throat Hit is? I've herd it referenced but have not seen an explanation. If its a cough during inhale or an irritation of some kind, I'm not into it. Doesn't much matter to me because I'm already down to 3mg and going lower. Don't expect I've experienced TH yet.

Thanks for the info! TH is just basically a simulation of how an analog feels on the throat. Personally, It is something I need to keep me of analogs. If you don't need it and are on such a low nic level, more power to you! :D

Let me see if I can help.

First off, I started with the Volcano Inferno, then got the Magma. The Magma was great and all, but lacked the power of the ego type Inferno. Then of course I went to the 3.7 volt mods, the Lava Tube, etc. Then I got the ego twist for something smaller to carry around, but still somewhere inside me, I was still looking for the cig sized e-cig to carry around when I'm out and about, just like you are doing now. Then, just like you, I was looking around and saw all these good reviews about the Smokeless Image Volt. I went ahead and ordered it, got it yesterday, and I can't believe how good this thing is. One fully charged 65mm auto batt last me throughout my whole day of work (9-5) today in moderate to heavy vaping, and I am a heavy vaper!! I only charged the batt when I got home and it still wasn't fully drained.

As for your question regarding the ohms on the carts, I'm not so sure, maybe Imagine can chime in on that. I have the 18mg carts and the throat hit, vapor production are both excellent coming from such a small form factor. By the way, these are one of the best carts I've used so far.

I highly recommend you try it out.

Oh and if you got 2 3-5 ml tanks 2 650/900 Mah twist batteries that's all day vaping and fits in a sunglass size case that's what I tote around.

Yeah - I think it is more of a mental block for me. I kind of just want an automatic the size of an analog that performs better than the ones from a few years ago. I'm loving my twist, but I can't have it dangling from my mouth! ;)

TH is that hit you feel at the back of the throat when you take a drag off of an analog. Make sense now?

By far the volt is the best mini ecig style I've used, using 1.7 ohm carts if you can find them makes it even better. I finally found a 510 carto that works as good if not better than the 808

Could you tell me the advantage of using 1.7ohm carts? Does this also apply to clearo's?

I'm not much of a judge of TH, but I also became intrigued with the Volt due to the Steeljan video. I have been vaping since last Dec, using a VV mod since March, and I am absolutely loving my little Volts! I say go for it. I think you will love it for certain occasions as I do, and they do have a 30 day guarantee if you don't. :D ETA: Like I said not much of a judge of TH, but the vapor production of these little beasts is AMAZING!

Forsaken1981- you do realize you are posting in the Smokeless Image forum??? Kinda rude to advise against a product in their own forum. Bad manners.

Smoked for around 30 years. TH? psssssh. 2-3 months smoke free and I have no clue what throat hit is. I never felt it or worried about it.

I am not much of a judge. I just figure I am not smoking anymore. That is a good thing.

I'm new to vaping and using the Volt 65mm's exclusively now. As someone else mentioned the Volts are regulated at 3.7 volts and they are 808 threads, so I don't think your current supplies will work (without an adapter). I can tell you I was off analogs about 30 min after my kit arrived (17 year PAD Marlboro Medium, then 3 year PAD RYO). TH was fine for me, however it was less than the RYO which is what I was looking for. Seems the juice has a bit to do with tht too. I have some 100% VG and it is very mellow and smooth, but the vapor is so thick that you can feel it (different feeling than the sort of scratchy TH I had with 50/50 juices). I'm using the CE3's and they are the only way to go IMHO. SI has a Volt starter kit for $20 and a 15% off with code YOURVOLT00. You get 1 batt, 1USB charger and 2 pre filled cartos, after code it would be $17, and I think shipping is like $3. So pretty cheap to check it out.

Smoked for 40 + yrs. Don't remember what you describe, but, thanks

Lower ohms, hotter vapor, less use time per battery charge. Some say hotter vapor creates better flavor, don't know. Higher ohms, cooler vapor, longer use time. That's where these VV PV's come in I think. VV's allow you to apply higher voltage to higher ohm devices to achieve hotter vapor. At least thats how I understand it. Yes applies to any device including clearo's.

:) I always wondered too. Then I said why worry. If I don't know what throat is, how could I miss it.

I just love the sound of pssssssssh, mate. :p

I STILL DON"T KNOW WHAT FOLKS CALL THROAT HIT.
If you mean a harsh hit at the back of your throat,,,YOU CAN KEEP IT.
I don't like a raw throat feeling and anybody that does is a sadist to them selves.

Yup, that's "throat hit"... I agree that it is unpleasant. The whole reason I started looking into e-cigs was because my throat was killing me (ever see the "filter" on the RYO tubes, even on the "ultra lights" that I used it was only about 3/4 inch). HOWEVER, let's keep in mind that each person has their own psychological ties to their analogs. For me, I have to use the 65mm batts. The eGos are a nice idea, the manual 78mm is kinda cool, but I have to feel like I'm holding a cig. I even regularly "ash" my 65mm lol. People keep telling me "oh you'll get over that, just buy one and you'll love it". But I don't love it. I want my analog feel! If ya need to feel it in your throat in order to keep off analogs, DO IT! Different strokes for different folks!
