His advanced cleaning, while much more thorough I would do only as a "last resort" as the battery can be damaged
or the SD can break using all that force. I've read elsewhere of folks running into such troubles.

The newer version with the top metal spike may be an even tighter fit I've read here somewhere.
If I had it apart to that stage I'd likely just replace the wick and wire with new ones.
He does a vid on that too.

@Hitmetwice dude you rock! I emptied out my problematic stardust, followed your guidlines, and it is working much much better!

I then opened up a new one, did a dry burn on that, filled it with juice and it is already better than the first one.

So my experience with these are alot better, after dry burning.

Savu, yeah the filler would burn. You can try cleaning them by boiling, flushing them out with a syringe/turkey baster type thing, and then try to dry them somehow. In my experience, its not worth it, they never work well afterwards. I've only done it on cartos that were ready to throw out though, YMMV on ones that are still working well, but i wouldn't bother. Cartos are cheap enough to stick with one flavor each imo, even flanged, punched tank cartos.

Vape as much juice out of them as you can without burning them is probably the only thing you can do with them to change flavors. You will get a overlap of flavor for a bit, hopefully they taste ok together.

As for dry burning; I don't know if the wick is the same on stardusts, but when i dry burn my 1.2ml visions, i do it a little differently. I will dry burn until it stops giving off vapor, even if it smells burnt. I think its just burning any gunk on the coil, the wick stay white and doesn't burn. After, i will rinse it out again to get rid of any ash, then do a short dry burn to dry it again. I've been using one for a month and half, cleaned it twice, and its still like brand new.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I watched the pbusardo carto boiling video and that does not seem pleasant to me, so I will be just enjoying the overlap flavour fusion experience.

So, I think this answers in part one of my main questions starting this thread - what are the benefits of clearos? Apparently they are much more reusable and easier to clean than cartos.

I just dry burn mine by unscrewing the black tip, rinsing in hot water, shake out water, and attach to my eGo and 5 sec burst, 5 sec pause, etc, until I see the coils light up a nice orange from the top hole through the spike.

Don't you pull the silicone part away from the post first or just burn it in place?

LKSkang...when I open the new one coming today should I rinse and then do a dry burn...or just a dry burn?

when I got mine, I just filled and vaped away... but didn't taste so good because of the primer... so I would recommend rinse and dry burn... because the wick is so short, it doesn't take long to dry it with dry burns.

Stardusts may be getting longer wicks.

YES! This is why I don't like them... well this and the fact that they crack easily, need to be filled every 20 minutes, and the flavour is significantly muted compared to anything else I've ever tried. But by far, the most annoying thing about them is that even though I tip the damn thing 200 times a minute, it STILL does not wick!

Oh Canada
Ive been using one of mine for about 2 months and no problems. There are 2 small cracks but it doesnt leak or anything. I've tried maybe 10 or so different cartos/clearos and this has been the best thing so far for me. I do get the occasional dry hit but thats my bad for not tipping enough. Can't figure out why they didnt make the wicks longer.

Anyhow, I now have 3 (1 without the metal rod and 2 with) and they all work the same. As others have said- they do rip through e-juice faster than anything else I have but IMO these blow cartos away.

From my experience the shorter wick allows for faster wicking/transfer of flavours.
They are great for testing new juices because of this as it allows quicker changeover.

The vaping motion wets the wick just fine, due to the shape of the tube, unless it's very low on juice.

While this clearo is the first major advancement since I've begun vaping, it's the be all and end all
as far as convenience, affordability and quality up to this point in my vaping journey.

I hope the manufacturers don't change a thing, other than perhaps reducing the cost to a dollar each.:D

Yeah price drop would be nice. But Im thinking about how many regular cartos I would have gone through in 2 months and it actually works out to be more cost effective.

I can't wait till canvape gets the colored ones!!!

If you are new to vaping, I would suggest the stardust. They don't have the leaking issues of eGo-T/C atomizers. Which is nice. And you don't have to mess around with the difficult filling/overfilling of cartos. That being said, I'm okay with people saying other setups perform better. I just think this is the best for people who want an easy experience.
