that sucks my order is still pending (ordered last night) are you setting the vamo (short hand name for the mod) to NO 02 in the menu settings? if its stuck on NO 01 you will burn things up very fast. for me the zmax had some pretty bad reviews that i saw plus it was like 30 dollars more. i spent more in that just getting some good batts and a charger :/ ill post a mini review on mine when it comes in. i grabbed a tank from madvapes to test with it along with my trust atty ive had for like 8 months lol

yea had it set to no2 (RMS) and wattage setting at 7watts it lit up that atty and burned it out and then never worked again
would just say low battery no matter what battery out of about 10 that i tried before giving up.
they all read 0.2 i tried single 18350 double 18350s and a 18650 same thing with all of them.
will be getting my first replacement one tomorrow wish me luck with the new one.

got my first replacement in this afternoon it works fine this time:) tho im starting to think there quality control is a bit on the low side this one had the main top cap press fit at and angle maybe about 5 degrees off but enough that the attys looked a bit sideways when screwed in. i was able to fix it with a few blows from a rubber soft blow hammer other then that this one seems pretty solid.

mines here, came in in perfect condition. alot thinner then i thought it would be. almost smaller then a quarter. although going off of no sleep it was factory set to NO 01 and i threw an atty on there at 5volts.....the atty is no more. after i switched it to NO 02 this thing is awesome. 2 batt setup for me

Pros:
thinner then a quarter
voltage/wattage is spot on
easy menu layout
bright lit screen even in daylight
about 5 inches long with 2 batts

Cons:
Very slick steel likes to slide
comes preset to NO 01 setting (will blow atty's)
loves fingerprints will look dirty
doesnt always turn on with 5 button presses

Summary:
For 60 bucks for a vv/vw device its amazing and i would order many many more. This will be my number 1 device

Your assessment is dead on! It's really easy to use and performs flawlessly. It would be nice if it had an option to light up the display when you fire it. Considering the cost, I really can't complain. I removed the extension sleeve and have been enjoying it with the single IMR 18350. It may not get the best battery life but seriously reduces the height and weight. For $60, you can't go wrong!

Bought one of these about 4 weeks ago. uses 18650 or one or two 18350 batteries. I run it on the variable current and find the sweet spot for each on my juices. recharge battery every 2-3 days. At about 3.3 volts is the min volts for the unit. If you use the 2 18350 feature you have drive some very high watts. Very nice feature to be able to shorten it and use one 18350 battery when you don't want to carry the long unit. I bought several batteries flat top and button top 18650 and they all work. I would buy the hugest ma battery I could.

Have not tried a protected battery. Does any one have experience with a protected battery.
