I started using clearos back in Dec and loved my stardust. It worked for about three weeks on the first head (and subsequently burned through 2 in a day). I figured I would pick up a vivi nova with my order of 5 more heads for the stardust. They arrived on Thursday, and I have to say that I think I am done with clearos for now. This vivi nova just doesn't work the way I feel like it is supposed to. I haven't had any problems with leaking, but holy dry hits, batman!! If I don't keep it absolutely topped off, it dry hits like crazy. Then there's the incredibly muted flavor issue. I have tried just about everything covered on the forums to fix it. I finally gave in and built my first wick/coil assembly for it this afternoon. It works ALMOST as good as I thought it would with a nice cotton wick and I'm pleased with the way it's working now....but it should work like this out of the box. Now I have a carto tank setup on the way. I hope it works better than these clearos like a lot of people say they do.

That's the one I have, with the mophead type wick. I'm over it though. Too much work to make something perform. The more I think about it, the more excited I am to try out a carto-tank. I've been away from the forums for too long. I deployed to Afghanistan with an original eGo and blue foam modded cartridges and switched to dripping while I was there. Dripping worked awesomely for me. Then I started seeing people with these crazy tanks and had to get in on the action. Now vaping is shiny and new again and I have a lot of things to try. I just ordered the regular boge tank and cartomizer to see how I like the carto setup on my zmax. If i like it enough, then come tax time, this bad boy will be mine:

I've used the vivi nova 2 1/2 weeks since vaping and I wish people on here would recommend more alternatives. It's a finicky thing and not very reliable from my experience. Both of mine began leaking from the bottom post and are giving me very hard draws. I've rebuilt them and so on but it's the same thing and too much of a hassle to bother with. I'm also looking at the best carto-tanks to use now.

I went full circle - right back to atomizers.

Call me weird, but every carto I tried tasted like "vaping lite" - all air, no flavor. (Believe me, I tried a pile of them. Single coil, bottom coil, DC, name the resistance, all manure of brands.) Even the tank setups. I know people swear by them, but I really don't get it.

I tried ViVi Nova and really wanted to like it but that didn't work out for me either. I use 100 VG stuff and the ViVi Nova just couldn't keep up. Could get a couple few good hits off it before dry hits. Put it down, tip it all over the place, get a few more decent hits... and repeat. It just seems like a really bad design: Take the wick - you know, the part that is supposed to suck up the liquid - and then constrict it as tightly as possible by wrapping a super tight coil around it. And have it all fight gravity by making the liquid do an uphill climb to a coil located at the top. I have the SS mesh, but honestly - haven't been interested enough to waste a weekend rebuilding, testing & fiddling to see what happens.

Currently using: eGo XL type B atomizers with the 2.5 ml size carts that go with it. These aren't your Moma's mini standard size attys. Last for weeks - like two months, I can go for hours between fills, easy to clean, and there's nothing to kill if you let it go too dry. And most important to me - I can actually taste what I'm vaping.

Then there's the incredibly muted flavor issue.
I found the flavor way too warm, no throat hits ... as in "E-liquid Lite".
They leak, suck up too much juice ... there is not 1 positive thing I can say about them, the worst clearo I ever had ... actually both of them -- identical.

i was likeing my vivi nova at first......i figured i'd be done with carto tanks...but recently my regular vivi nova and vivi mini become extremely lose on my one mod, almost like i'm stripping something, they wiggle and if u turn it even a bit to much its completely lose again.....carto tanks screw on the mod just fine and the vivi nova's screw on my back up mod just fine but i like variable voltage for the different ohm heads

just hope i'm not ruining the main mod threading

Try some 80pg/20vg Dekang DK-TAB in your Vivi Nova for a good throat hit with flavor.

The best flavor outside of a dripper atty that I found was from a Smoktek DCT tank. My Vivi Nova Tank is doing a respectable job with 80/20 juices. I have no problem with dry hits unless I crank the voltage way too high. I like smooth taste anyway with a light throat hit that I can feel without throat irritation afterward. I don't want anything that causes dry throat or irritation that lasts after the vape. A slight peppery taste isn't bad, though.

I've vaped VG juices over the years, but never really found high VG juices that delivered good flavor.

I know, it's sucked up half of my 50ml bottle in about a week....i NEVER vape that much.

Sounds familiar. The threading on mine is very poorly machined - rough - and the center posts are an abortion. They wouldn't screw on two of my box mod 510 connectors at all. The solution? Try a 510-510 extender. Might look dumb, but at least the VVNV's screwed onto that ok and prevented messing up my 510 connectors.

I still use my Vivi's but I am getting extremely frustrated with inconsistencies. I have 5 full size ones that I completely disassemble and clean once a week. I keep them filled and with me, and have even gone so far as head a for flavor a, head b for flavor b, and the darn things are still inconsistent. One week flavor a will work great, but the following week it stinks. The only change is the base, tank, and top. They were all purchased at the same time from Health Cabin, so if they should all be genuine Vision and not clones.

I have a carto tank that I am back to using, and have a second in the mail. I like tank destroying flavors so I need to buy glass tanks. I plan to buy at least one more glass tank, and probably 2 plastic ones for "regular" juices.

Not sure if I'm going to fiddle with the Novas or just put them in storage. If I thought the heads were the issue, I would be more prone to trying to get it consistent, but since the issue seems to be with the base itself, it's probably not worth it.

Thank god for IBTanked, a Pyrex tank with SS end caps for $25 shipped is a god send....

I feel the exact same way with carto tanks and have given up on them for the time being. I tried several different brands of cartos and hole sizes. I either get burnt or flooded hits... nothing in between.

Only four or five months ago, the ViVi Nova was supposed to be THE BOMB. Dude, the reviews made it sound like it was forged by dwarves in the halls of Middle Earth. Oh, man, I SO wanted to believe the hype!

Got one!

It sucked!

Got more heads...

Still sucked!

Tried to sell it... No one wanted it.

I gave it away in the end. What a waste of time and money.

Look at the clearos subforum now. That's all I say to Nova worshippers. It's nothing but Nova and Kanger hate. Didn't take long for people to realize that they bought... well, crap, IMO.

I just got my first Vivi Nova last week. It's a version 2.5 with the 4 long wicks that extend 8 legs to the bottom of the tube. It's not dripper atty flavor quality, but it's equal to the days when cartos produced good flavor. I haven't had dry hits or leaks or any kind of problems. In fact, it's become my main vape just for the fact that I don't have to top it off every 30 minutes.

From what I've discovered, this is the latest revision of the VN. Even PBusardo likes it. I didn't try V1 or V2, but those had issues according to what I've read.

Yeah I got the viva tank and love it compared to driping which I did for the first 2 years of vaping. but I do get the burnt taste when its at like half full which is odd, and it seems to suck up juice like a 4 barrel on a V8, I had a ton of juice in there a second ago... did I vape all of that??? Never a leak though.

I've noticed that, too. I'll fill it up to the bottom of the silicone around the coil head and a few minutes later it's down an eighth of an inch. I supposed the upper part of the wicks get a little dry when it's getting empty and they soak up part of the juice after you fill it and they get submerged again.

I told myself I would never buy another CE2 style product as long as I live after the MAP tank problems. And here we are a year and a half later with the exact same issues that the MAP tank had. How far do you go down the rabbit hole before you realize that you went the wrong way. This style has gone through many revisions and I am fully convinced that it will NEVER work.

i know, this looks like the option i have to go with if i want to use it on my VV mod, but it does fit my mini 3.7v 18350 mod, just higher ohm's dont' vape so well on it
