Welcome to ECF. I'm sorry I can't help with the correct answer, but I know someone will be along that can explain it. I stopped worring about ohms and volts. I use to do that for a living. Now I just try something and when I get it right that's what I stay with. I'm also not really picky about the full effect I just need the taste and to fill the nic fit.

I am having trouble understanding the volts for the battery and choosing a cartomizer with the correct ohms. I have a 3.7 volt battery and I am currently using a dual coil poly fill cartomizer and Im not sure if I am getting the full effect of the vape. Need some help please!!!!

What is your device? You could use LR (Low resistance) cartos if you want bigger puffs. LR cartos are generally 1.5-2.0 ohms.

This ohms calculator might help you.
Ohm's Law Calculator

Fill out the Voltage and Resistance boxes, then calculate.
It will give you a total power (watts)
Generally, you want the total watts to be around 8-9 watts.

Rule of thumb.

Low Ohms: Warmer
Higher Ohms: Cooler

We can go into all the Math and all the Ups and Downs of This and That. But what it comes down to is that You should try Different Ohm Cartos with Your Setup.

If you think you would like a Warmer more Fully Bodied Hit, try going down Slightly in Ohms of the Cartos you are using.

On my 3.7 PVs I like the Boge 2.0 ohm single coil and even better the Smok Tech 1.7 single coil. Dual coils are meant for higher voltage PVs and will drain your batts quicker and give a weaker vape. The Smok Tech 1.7 are also known as The Resurrector. Gives a nice warm vape and here's a review:

Thank you! I didn't really understand either till you mentioned"warmer" and that's what I don't want. My friend has a warmer low resistance one... And I burnt my lip. I think he has a batt mod too. I like a cool Vape myself. His made my mouth get cottony (I think that's a word!).

Ask you Friend what the Ohms were and what His/Her Mod Voltage is the next time you see them. Then post it here and we can figure out the Watts (Power/Heat).

Then you can gauge what Ohms might work best for you.

Here is a chart to help you. View attachment 136972

The formula to figure it is Volts squared divided by ohms. The goal being to get it between 4-10 watts. 6 is what many suggest.
Note. The higher the wattage the shorter the atty will last and you can burn the juice. It also uses up you battery quicker an could shorten the life of the battery.
To low and you will not get good vapor.
Hope this helps.
I'm a techi nerd use to be an Electronics tech so this is easy for me
To understand it all the best analogy is with water. Volts is like water pressure, Amps are like Gallons per minute. and Watts are the combo of both being total power. Ohms are like the size of the hose or pipe. The higher the resistance in electronics the smaller the hose or pipe. Bigger pipe more power potential.

Here is another chart I have been using (same thing as above essentially).
